THQ has announced a pocket sized, mobile version of LEGO Star War II: The Original Trilogy. It is aptly titled, LEGO Star Wars II. (http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Mobile/LEGO+Star+Wars+II/news.asp?c=2093)
The game is based on the Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope film, with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 sneaking onto the Death Star to rescue Princess Leia.
What this means is 18 interconnected levels packed with enemies to duff up and puzzles to solve, with you able to play as Luke, R2-D2 or Leia – each with their own abilities and weapons. You can switch between the characters too, which is sometimes necessary to progress, says THQ.
Neato! If my phone wasn't such an antique, I'd be all over this. Speaking of which, should I still be carrying around a two pound battery pack for my brick phone? I'm getting funny looks.

How many EAers here actually play Cell Phone games? I don't, can't stand them.

Depends on the phone. PDA phones do great...but that's another story. Nokias tend to do very well. There are decent games, but 95% are fucking horrible.

All I need is her hand in my pocket, if you get my meaning.

People don't play cell phone games because most of them are rubbish. I had a game called collapse (http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/collapse.jsp) on my Samsung. I played the crap out of it because it was fun and addicting...

I'm inclined to concur with score. Cell phone games are nigh universally shit. The whole market makes the Atari and Nintendo eras look good by comparison.
There are a very few good games out there, like Macrospace's Ancient Empires, but mostly it's just piles and piles of utterly horrid games.

I do. However like most phones, my phone can only play java games. not the symbian OS format games (which are much better).
I think gaming wise, the best type of phone to get is a Sony Ericsson. I personally use a Sony Ericsson k750i, however it seems to have a dodgy joystick :( .
There are heaps of crap mobile games. But there are a few jems that stand out. Ask and i'll deliver ;)

Cell phone's are not made to be game systems, so the reason most games suck is because of the limitations the Cell phones impose on them. These games sound great from the descriptions, but you would probably rather pluck a splinter out of your eyeball than play them.
However, while I don't like them because they are not very fun, there are many other reasons to hate them. I bought 5 games for my LG 325, which I never really played (too simple, too hard to control), but I had them. I just got a new Razr 3Vm. I can't download any of them to it, which means $$ I spent is now gone and if I want games on my new phone, I have to buy them all over again.
And now most games offered by Sprint aren't buy this and own it, but RENT PER MONTH??
Cell phone games are a really really bad investment (heck, that includes any cell phone content if you asked me...).

The vast majority of my cell phone games on my old phone were acquired by way of mobile Google and random Russian sites.
Sadly, my stupid Virgin Mobile phone is crippled as hell, so no game piracy for me.
