Holy Fuck! Crazy news about OFP2/Armed Assault. Hell, I didn't even know Bohemia wasn't in business with Codemasters anymore. Or are they? Cause OFP for the xbox has to be published by codemasters if they own the name. I guess this is their last game with them.

Hopefully they impressed some publishers at E3 so they can make the spirtual successor to OFP2.

And were all those screens of OFP for Xbox? If so, it could turn out to be the best looking game of this generation for the xbox.

OFP2 is something I have been keeping track of for a long time. I recently got the original Operation Flashpoint + Resistance working coop with friends and even in today the game is amazing.

All I can tell you is that the PR sent out did not indicate a publisher, but that doesn't mean that they've split ways with Codemasters.

Speaking in general, Armed Assault is not a "renamed" or even a "reformed" Operation Flashpoint 2. The game is still centered around the "realistic military shooter" genre, but is a small step away from OFP. Hopefully Bohemia will touch back on OFP2, but that'll depend on the success of Armed Assault and their present relationship with Codemasters.

By the looks of it though, Armed Assault may be the scapegoat that Bohemia was looking for to continue their work under another publishing firm.

Oh, ok. That calmed my nerves a bit. Anyways, armed assault sounds amazing with the RPG elements and dialogue. I've imagined such a game numerous times while playing OFP. Hope they change the name, armed assault sounds really generic.

sweet... Armed Assault (OFP2.. whatever) sounds über nice.. :D
I really like the new open ended gameplay and world simulation.
and destructable environments too!

and it looks nice too.. not exactly Gears of War graphics. But a vast improvement over OFP.

any publishers not picking this up would stand as retarded in my book.

yup.. boring generic tile though..

if they don't support join game in progress in multiplayer this time around.. I will kick their asses..

Just got back from the expo. Loved it. All the zombie games, the zombies at the Infected stage, boothbabes galore, Bond, Stargate SG-1 Looking amazing, Starship Troopers in all its glorious arachnid action....just way too much good stuff.
