Okami and Final Fight: Streetwise previewed

Pro-G has previews for Okami (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/previews/pid/761/65/) on the PlayStation 2 and Final Fight: Streetwise (http://www.pro-g.co.uk/previews/pid/845/63/) for the PlayStation 2.

Even at this stage Okami stands out as something truly special among the throng of games at E3. It really is magical in so many ways. Indeed, it's hard to imagine how this could get much better, but we have a year to wait. In all honesty, it can't come soon enough.

Aesthetically Final Fight: Streetwise looked, to be frank, just like any other 3rd-person title. Hopefully the full game will feature some more diversity than shown in the dark warehouse or nondescript streets. Punches sounded nice and weighty, though, with light and heavy attacks sounding suitably painful.

I saw a little about Okami and I am intrigued. It looks beautiful and the game concept is truly original. The only question I have left is will it be fun to play but I am betting it will be. I wish more american game developers would take a cue from some of the Japanese developers and try new and different game ideas instead of the same old game genres redone over and over.

I have to agree. People tend to make fun of Japanese games for being strange, and while many are, at least they sometimes introduce new and fun gameplay.

I almost fell off my chair when i heard about Final Fight. Who would want to remake that? Especially the way that their doing it.

Exactly. This game would rock on the DS, because it's whole concept is exactly the thing the DS is made for, drawing!

Yeah, seriously. That E3 trailer for the new Final Fight is enough to make milk come out of your nose due to laughter. Final Fight was a great beat'em up i nthe olde days, but sheesh, why did they have to slap all that profanity and "XXXXttteeeemmmmeeee" attitude into this new one?

AND from all the information I have found on it, the sucker is sinngle-player. A single-player beat'em up? The thing is going to bomb worse than Fighting Force 2 did.

But... But... Hey, maybe you're right. And maybe WindWaker would have been better on the GBA, because it's for children.
