What the hell?!?!? The screens (http://www.gametab.com/forums/showthread.php?t=539) speak for themselves.
This game had such promise....

I heard Swingin' Ape started over from scratch when they took over so I'm just hoping this is an early version of a completely new build of the game, especially after watching the E3 videos. Considering it's still a year off and Blizzard is somewhat anal about their quality control I'm hoping they won't let this thing hit the market without being outstanding. They've already shown they're willing to scrap nearly completed projects just because they weren't up to their standards, for the time being I'm going to trust them to not to let something awful happen to the Starcraft franchise.
If they've got anything running against them at this point it's the clock, people aren't going to be thinking about Xbox much in 2006 with the 360 already out and the PS3 on the way (assuming it doesn't beat Ghost to the market).

What, it's going to suck now? ;p C'mon Bap, you should know better than to judge a game by the screens. Espcially all 5 of them ;p
Personally I'm stoked about getting to play as a Firebat ;p Although I have a feeling that may be multiplayer...

I'm not judging soley on the screens (though they look like ass), I'm judging on comments from others I heard. Like someone said though, rumor has it they are starting from scratch....so hopefully they can "fix this"

They should scrap it again and make it for next gen consoles, seriously -- at this point its going to be mid 2006 and they'll lose a lot of potential sales purely because its on old gen systems that most will stop caring about.
I liked the original screenshots they had going, it had a far darker feel to it. This game almost looks bright n cheery in comparison. The screenshots definately have a different feel than I remember seeing before.
The first 3 screenshots look like something on the PS1. The final two may be Dreamcast quality.

On the other hand the flow of new titles is going to dry up, and there's still gonna be plenty of people with a PS2 or xbox only. It's not like they're gonna sell 30 million 360's in 6 months, depending on how well it's marketed, it'll probably end up being a huge hit. Legions of people are going to buy it for the starcraft name alone. And can you say Korea?

You have a point there. Still, they should scrap it and try again =o

Yeah, so it doesn't look that great, especially after all the next-gen footage that's been floating around. But to be honest, I'm not too fussed on whether it's the prettiest game in the world.
I've read a couple of hands-on previews from E3 and they both seemed very positive, drivable vehicles and online multiplayer sounds very sweet to me.
Coincidentally, I'm going through the new SC:Ghost screenshots from E3 on Gamespy at the moment, and some of them look pretty cool. This Zerg stuff (http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/489/489845/img_2796326.html) looks kinda nice.
I'm sure it won't be a disaster of C&C: Renegade proportions, and I'm still happy to hope that it'll be damn fun when it arrives.

Not sure why it's still called ghost, you seem to be able to play as all kinds of unit types now. There is an e3 gameplay movie (on gamespot I think) and I didn't even see a ghost trough most of the movie.

Someone I spoke with at Blizzard had mentioned that there was multiplayer in the game (This was about 2 months ago.), which was news to me. It seemed like the feeling over there was everything was loving the hell out of the multiplayer game. I don't know if it was a spin, but Blizzard people seem to be rather honest. I think the game will turn out great. Nothing Blizzard has done new has sucked. It just might be a bit different than what we were expecting when it was first anounced.

They had what looked like 8-way multiplayer rounds going on at E3, where you can play as various unit types. Seemed fairly generic to me. All the single-player stuff I saw was as the Ghost unit.

What are you people smoking? For a current-generation game I don't think the screens look bad at all. Decent geometry, lighting and textures. It's a hell of a lot prettier than half the titles available for the PS2.

I think E3 spoiled us with all the next gen tech demos and (few) game demos.

No, the vids look horrible. There's one in particular with horrifying bad animations.
They also changed the sound of the thunderous siege mode with a wimpy one. Man what a mistake.

I saw this in motion at E3. It is basically a starcraft ghost skin on metal arms. That is not a bad thing folks! Metal arms is one of the greatest unsung games of all time. It has all the gameplay mechanics already in place that you'd need for a good Starcraft: Ghost game. Plus, now it has multiplayer. The game may not look as flashy as it used to, but at least now you know it will be FUN. Last i heard round here, gameplay is what matters.
In a world where the new star wars film doesn't suck, anything is possible!
Well, I've yet to see a Blizzard game that looks particularly impressive in screenshots (except their cinematic videos, of course). I've also yet to see a Blizzard game I didn't like, so until that happens they get an unconditional benefit of the doubt from me.

From what I saw of this at E3, the mutliplayer is kind of like Battlefield/SW Battlefront/Wolfenstien ET/Team Fortress played as the Terrans from Starcraft. It has all the different units and vehicles from SC. I remember seing marines, ghosts, firebats, wraiths, bunkers, tanks, etc...
