Game of the Year for GameCube.

Voting will run through Friday, 12/29, with the results going up New Years Day.

My most humble apologies to Cube fans for not putting the system in the preliminary rounds. It was completely unintentional. I've put together a final list for voting based on some of the more popular titles. Again, my apologies if the list isn't quite up to snuff.

I already gave some love to Zelda over in the Wii thread, so I'm going to have to go with Chibi Robo. That was a great, fun game. I really enjoyed the idea of being tiny and running around in a huge house, cleaning things up and trying to straighten out the lives of a family. It was a cute, enjoyable game that I liked every minute of. I hope more people will pick it up and play it, either on a second hand 'Cube (and really, you have no excuse any more) or on the Wii.

I'm voting for Chibi just to make Spigot happy

Another Chibi vote for the Spigster since I didn't want to vote for Twilight Princess twice.

I am currently playing Baten Kaitos 2 and loving it even more than BK1. The combat system *IS* fucked up real hard in the sequel making most of battles frustrating and unbeatable but the game is otherwise SWEET.

I have been wanting to play this game for a long time now, and plan on doing exactly as you have suggested. I think I was sold on this game when I first saw a screen shot of that little robot dragging his plug around. :D

Frustrating and sometimes unbeatable battles in an RPG seems like the one thing I need to make me think of it as NOT sweet. :p

As well you should. At first, I thought, "Hmm... were there any Cube games this year?"

Then I saw the list and thought, "Hey, Odama! That was a neat game. Maybe I'll vote for it!"

Then I looked a bit further down the list and saw my beloved Chibi Robo and thought, "CHIBI MOTHERFUCKIN' ROBO!"

And I'm not one to drop the F-bomb like SOME people around here...

Remember: Every time you vote for Chibi Robo, a Telly gets his wings.

See, the battle system is what pissed me off about BK1. I loved the artwork, I could get past the atrocious voice acting, but man, do I loathe card-based combat in my RPGs. To hear that the sequel has even more annoying combat is an instant sale killer for me.

Which is a shame, because the world they've created is rather interesting and the artwork is gorgeous. I just hate the combat.

Same. I voted for Chibi Robo here. I love Twilight Princess and all, but I haven't played it on the Cube, and I already voted for it on the Wii. Besides. Chibi Robo's a great game. :)

Man, Chibi is getting spanked. It's a shame, but I guess it kind of makes sense -- it's definitely "not for you," with you being "most people," it would seem.

That, and do you REALLY expect an odd, somewhat niche title that came out back in February or so to win against the latest and greatest Zelda title that just came out a few weeks ago?

I love Chibi and Telly and the entire family, but even I know that it has nary a chance.

If only they'd delayed the Cube version of Zelda by another week or two... sigh.

Oh man, the card system in BK2 is way, way weirdier than in BK1. The defense turn is gone, you use (equip) items that have limited durability and get destroyed (permanently - you lose those cards), you have only ONE deck for the entire party (no more deck per party member) and so on and so on. It is really more difficult to even manage that thing not to mention using it in battles and winning them!

First time I died (one of my party members fell down in combat with 0 HP) in BK1 was during the fight with Geldoblame, after his transformation. First time I died in BK2 was 20 minutes into the game, fighting some random monsters!

But the art and the music make up for it 10 times!
