xbox360.ign.com (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/616/616918p1.html) has the scoop on the previously touted "major defection":

The latest issue of EGM reveals massive news on developer Silicon Knights' next project -- or, as it turns out, projects. In addition to the company's partnership with SEGA to produce an original next-generation game, the developer has signed on with publisher Microsoft to produce a futuristic trilogy for Xbox 360. Yes, exclusively for Xbox 360. Sorry, Nintendo fans, but you won't see this trilogy on Revolution ever.Great news for X360 fans! Nintendo fans... uh, my condolences on your recent loss.

Wow Too Human. Wasn't that supposed to be on N64?

Eternal Darkness was a great game, but Silicon Knights still has to prove what they can accomplish nowadays before I'm going to give a crap about anything they're doing. O, and more games would also be nice. That is to say more than just one game in 8 years...at least that's how it appears, since Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain came out way back in 1996 and there's only Eternal Darkness for the current console generation.

Yeah, Silicon Knights will manage 3 completely original games on one system alone...

I enjoyed Eternal Darkness and the Twin Snakes remake was kick ass as well.

SK is hot shit in a champagne glass.

I'd buy anything they put out sight unseen. Such are their skillz.

It could happen. They're starting with someone else's engine, and they've obviously been planning this game for years. In fact, it looks like they broke from Nintendo largely so they could make it. If they already have a plan for *content* spanning 3 games, then why not? The Unreal 3 engine looks so good, they would probably tinker with it a little, if at all, between sequels. The groundwork's there; they just need to show that a game that spanned 3 generations of dev time was worth the wait.

Eh.

If the games are great, hooray. Too Human is bordering on the Duke Nukem Forever stage of existence. SK has some talent, but until I see gameplay movies this doesn't mean much of anything.

I loved Eternal Darkness and I thought Twin Snakes was pretty cool. Kudos to Silicon Knights for scoring a good contract for their company and I'm looking forward to hearing more about these titles.

P.S.: They are some great people, Denis (who sometimes visits these forums) has done more for Evil Avatar.com than any developer other than Ensemble Studios. This is a top notch company run by quality people.

I LOVE SK. As far as I'm concerned anything they touch turns to gold. I still have the original LoK, Eternal Darkness was brilliant (also still in my collection), and they were chosen to remake MGS for a reason. I really can't wait to see someting of these titles.

Eternal Darkness and Twin Snakes both came out this generation. I see no reason they would be unable to release 3 games in the next. Especially if they're using the same engine.

Granted, they haven't made many, but I haven't played a bad game by them yet. In fact, theirs are some of my favorites. I love games with a great story and both their original games had that.

This game start life on the PS1. I think MS will have pulled out of the console biz by the time the second chapter even arrives.

I didn't like Twin Snakes, but that's only because I reaaaaaaaaaaally don't get the MGS franchise at all. Eternal Darkness was fantastic. This is pretty unrelated, but I don't think I've ever seen a higher variance on price between stores than for Eternal Darkness. I've seen it for $40 in one store and $15 at the store next door. Bizarre. I assume it was of those awesome insanity effects that splashed over into reality.

I love SK's writing, but they make Rare look prolific. Looks like I may have to buy a 720 though. Hopefully MGS doesn't oddworld them.

Hahaha. Hellstorm, you're a riot. My eyes light up every time I see one of your posts because I just know it's going to be so damn funny.

Seriously, though. What did Microsoft do to you? Did they stab your babies? Did they make you watch as they shot your dog? Did they take your mother out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her back? The level of irrational fanboi-ism must be explained.
