I found this link over on GameLife (linked from Slashdot Games). It's a bunch of Flash games that seemed designed to work perfectly for the Wii's browser. The few I've tried from my work PC are simple games, but they should work great with the Wii controls.

While this is actually rather old news(the site was spread around the various gaming media outlets a month or more before the Wii's launch), it's a rather timely reminder.
I played a few games with a mouse a while ago...but I'll have to give these a shot with the Wiimote. Mayhaps they'll be fun?

Regardless, I think there will be a new "Wii flash game" craze soon. Hopefully we'll get some gems then.

Yeah, who needs XBOX Live for simple, addictive games. ;)
I just want to point out that I posted (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21049) this news a long time ago. No thank you necessary. :p
You can try some of them with pc browsers and on the PS3 too.

I surfed EvAv a bit this morning on the Wii -- I was pretty impressed that I was able to somewhat read the text on my SDTV. Looks like I'll have to invest in a HDTV fairly soon if I want to make serious use of this. :D

While not guaranteed to work on the Wii, I've found some good games (many of which will work on Wii) at www.flashrage.com.

Some of the games at wiicade don't work though. I'm hoping with the release of opera they can iron out any problems.

Does anyone have specs for running web games on the Wii? Does the browser support everything like Javascript, Flash (appears so from comments above) and Java applets? Or are there "special" compatibility issues?
Links?

Based on its user-agent, it seems to be a full version of Opera 9.00. So anything that that version of Opera supports built-in (without the use of plugins) should work fine, including just about any JavaScript you want. Additionally the Wii version has Flash built-in, but looking over the on-screen documentation, no other plugins are mentioned (Java, etc.) so it's highly unlikely anything else is included.

My god, if Runescape worked with the Wii, it would be the end of the world as we know it.

Just noticed a couple of wiimote shortcuts:
button 1 takes you straight to favourites
Button 2 does an extreme close up

Why would you do that? Wii is only capable of up to 480p.

This dude says the resolution is, and I quote
The screen resolution on a 16×9 TV is 1024×500 (very odd size, may lead into wide screen flash games). Check the resolution here: http://www.cyscape.com/showbrow.aspx?bhcp=1
1024x500. Not that shabby but I did not check this with my Wii (My TV does 720p/1080i though so it should)
That article is a great read by the way and the author makes some great points
The bottom menu “favorites”, “home”, etc. takes up at least 20% of the screens height.
I noticed this right away, they need to fix this

Not game related, but Wii-related: it has been brought to my attention that with the help of Orb, you can stream pretty much anything - music, video, etc - to your Wii from your PC.
I haven't had the chance to test it out yet, but I have used Orb to stream media to my work computer and it works great. If this turns out to be true, the Wii's non-gaming usage in my house will skyrocket.
