Apparantly the lights are out at E3 (http://ds.ign.com/articles/615/615907p1.html). According to IGN it may take up to 6 hours to restore power to most of the Convention Center. Ooops!
I guess that happens when you concentrate that many electronics in that small of an area!

Ouch. Kind of hard to show off your new games with no power.

That's gotta blow if you're going/showing there. Uuuugly.

on the bright side, people can watch the zelda trailer over and over and over and over again on their DS's.

Oh god, I bet it'd turn into a boiler room that place real quickly without AC. In the middle of LA with hundreds of people crowded together.

I didn't even think about the heat. Doing setup without AC is bad enough... Once people are on the show floor? Forget it.

I was feeling bummed I couldn't go today because projects had slipped, but now I don't feel so bad. :) I'll be there tomorrow and Friday. Hopefully everything will be sorted out by then.

Someone must've breached the final seal, awakened CELL's 8th core and unleashed the evil wtihin.

300 bucks, or industry-related. Black and white, no butz.
Yup, it's a business trade show for peddling games to retailers and media outlets.
I know your pain very well, believe me.

It's a troll, I know. Still, last I checked it's still the best in the world (as usual).

Either that or study game art and design for 3 years, then get a job in the videogame industry.

You could also intern at a games company. Check your local listings. Gamasutra.com has some good lists of local developers.

Yeah....I don't know about you, but that's not the type of crowd I'd want to be involved in an orgy with. One boothbabe for every 50 geeks....

Actually, it's not, mainly due to the 120 volts where the rest of the world is 220 or 240. In Australia there's no such thing as a brown out (unless you're in the middle of nowhere with your own power supply), blackouts occur at most once a year, and they're from fires at a substation or a powerlines going down in a storm (though weather has been extra crazy past couple of years, so sometimes it's a little more frequent).
This from a RWDB, so I'm pro-America.
