Fun, I saw that the update was on xbox.com earlier today (quickly taken down), so I ran over to ebay and bought myself a copy of Psychonauts for $10.

I've heard such great things about this game, happy to finally get a chance to play it.

James Bond Nightfire locks up after the 2nd level. It's a fun game, and looks fucking great in HD for a 2002 game.

Seriously...it's worth waiting to be able to play these games in HD.

Aboit Indigo and Psychonauts, these are now Budget PC titles, and you need nothing special to run them(a gamepad helps of course).

Also, hasn't Double Fine struck a deal with Sierra for a now unnamed adventure title? ANd possibly Psychonauts 2?

I've heard such great things about this game, happy to finally get a chance to play it.
It's very good.

There's some annoying jumping sequences (particularly at the end), and the difficulty is a little inconsistant, but it's really fun.

It's a shame it didn't do better- it had the makings of a great series.

There's an October 10th interview with Schafer where he seems to indicate that Psychonauts 2 would be interesting but not presently possible.

Just thought I'd add that according to some random person at the xbox.com forums... the update has only been pushed out in the UK so far. The BC list still hasn't updated on xbox.com, so my guess is it will go up late tonight, maybe tomorrow.

Anyone from the UK around to confirm this? I'm guessing that the update info was actually just leaked (accidentally posted to xbox.com and quickly removed) and its actually just due out in a day or two
When I put Psychonauts in, it said "there is an update available for this game" but after I downloaded it, the game would not run, giving the standard "this game doesn't work" message. Point being that *something* downloaded, and the 360 seemed to think it was an update that included Psychonauts.

So I have no idea what's going on, but it doesn't work.

I just beat that on my PC running at 1920x1200...that game is absolutely gorgeous, and hilarious...a true classic.

The updated list was posted to the official BC list on the official US xbox.com.

The update is coming... its just that nobody knows when it is coming. Since it was mistakenly updated early, its gotta be coming up soon.

EDIT: I was wrong, the update wasnt to the US xbox site... it was the UK xbox.com - please ignore me... hopefully the update is still coming soon as it was still an official xbox website.

I just can't believe that with each BC list of twenty to thirty titles, that only two or three of my 40 (yes, FORTY) un-BC-ed games make the list!

And there are some good to great titles on there...Prince of Persia series, Deus Ex, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate, Armed & Dangerous, both TimeSplitters, Unreal Championship 2, Otogi, Panzer Dragoon Orta.

I am a sad man...:( I have 42 titles that have made the list, and 40 off the list. I'm feeling like they've overdelivered in a big way...NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT :mad:

Good spot. Why the best damn football game ever released is not on the BC list is anyone's guess. It would likely send a crushing wave of 'what-the-fuck'-isms to EA Sports if it ever were to be added.

I would buy a 360 if it was a hundred dollars cheaper and backwards compatible with Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future. Those are really the only games I can recall that ever made me feel jealous of Xbox owners.

If you enjoy their sloppy engine...jumping in that game should have been modeled after prince of persia or Tomb Raider...Buffy just slips all over the place...especially off of moving platforms...it's just not fun to play a game with such sloppy mechanics.

They really should have modeled it after the Prince of Persia, only that Prince of Persia came out a year later. It was pretty awesome for the time it came out. Tomb Raider was a grid system of movement until Legend so its movement was hellish by Xbox gen standards.

Well, I guess I must have really enjoyed their "sloppy engine" because I played the game from start to finish and had a blast. I also didn't notice myself getting frustrated due to anything other than my own inability.

Man, I was really hoping for Rallisport Challenge 2 this time around. It is the only BC title I want. Definitely THE best driving game on the old xbox.

DOA:U is a nice addition, but it still doesn't help that I can't transfer over my many hours of costume unlocking saves to my 360.

Yup, I loved the game as well. It was amazing at the time, and it is still pretty great to this day for a beat'um up. I loved the combat too, very cool stuff, and it was always satisfying after you take out a group of vamps.

Agreed. It should be kept in mind that "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was a early Xbox game (released in august 2002), and really was one of the very best action games on the Xbox until games like Sands of Time and Ninja Gaiden came out. It's also the best game The Collective has made, as its successors (Indiana Jones, Stars Wars Episode III, Mark Ecko, Da Vinci Code) all were relative disappointments.

I have a couple of titles I'm still waiting to be added (hopefully) someday to the BC list: the Prince of Persia sequels (#1 is already on there) and Beyond Good and Evil - which is even using the same engine as PoP:SoT.

Everything else is already on the list (Crimson Skies, KOTOR 1&2, Doom3, Halos) or I sold off when I picked up my 360 cuz I didn't play them any more.

I'm surprised they are stil working on this. I don't see this BC thing as a system seller for the 360.

For each BC update they release, the more complaining I read around the forums. They should drop the whole thing. The only game worth playing is alread BC: Ninja Gaiden

It's a big selling point for me. I sold off my Xbox and would like to revisit some of the games on it that I either didn't spend much time with (Silent Hill 4, Shenmue 2) or never got to play at all (Otogi, Psychonauts). I'd love to play these when I get a 360.

Also, seeing that the 360 is so powewrful, I'd love to be able to play old PC games on it like Xcom or Civ.

I saw DOA:U on the Target clearance shelf the other day for like $9 or something. I'll see if they still have a copy left next time I'm there.

It’s kinda depressing that each BC update is met with a choir of whingeing. Honestly.
I remember that at the E3 before the Xbox launch people thought that only the top few selling games would ever be BC. The number of BC games that were there off the bat was a surprise for most of us.
MS have been adding new games every quarter for the past year, and I’m sure that they will keep going. I’m also pretty sure that they will focus on ‘top selling’ games over ‘top rated’ games.
I have a bunch of non-BC games I’d like to see added (Dues Ex 2, Arx Fatalis, Morrowind), but a simple ‘thanks’ before the whingeing commences would be refreshing.

Holy crap! This is the best update since the first one! Finally some games I want to play!

The original Buffy was AWESOME until Ninja Gaiden came out. Anyone bagging on the "engine" probably works for some competitor (since most "people" don't blame "engines" for game issues ;))

I-Ninja was pretty cool but I never finished it. Now I can! And Psychonauts! Woohoo! I haven't played more than the first 10 minutes before my old XBox died. BC FTW!

I know that PC's can do that, but I see no reason as to why the 360 could not host an older win or msdos title.

It would allow a lot of old software to see new life.
