One of us needs to learn how to submit posts AFTER we change all of the HTML tags to the required forum tags.

The question is, which one of us is which?

Talk about upping the jiggle factor.

If you saw the movie you would have seen Christe (sp?) with an open jacket.

looks good. :D

Wow, this looks like something that could be done on the regular 'ol Xbox.

I agree. The DOA games already looked pretty amazing and these definitely aren't the kinds of screenshots that are gonna sway me to the next generation. I was expecting something in the vein of the tekken 6 screenshots for PS3

So, I see that they're continuing the tradition of using bleeding edge technology and massive polygon counts to render the blandest character designs imaginable.

This game makes me appreciate Tekken 6 even more. I think Jin Kazama's sweat beads looked like they had more polys then Kasumi's entire body.

uck their getting plastic like barbie.. sorta creepy
no sky, minimal clothing physics, just plain crap at higher res.
mario sunshine with 4x AA would look like this.

Boy, lemme tell ya........I think Xbox is waaaaay better than PS2, but if this is a sign of things to come, consider me a PS3 fanboy--I go where the good games take me.

Except for the fact that everything Sony showed was completely pre rendered. The only thing in real time at their press conference was UT2007 and Fight, the rest was pure video. That being said, these shots are definitely not as good as some of the other stuff being shown.

The images speak for themselves. The tekken six shots are either pre-rendered, or real time and lacking a background and any significant animation.

I'm not saying DOA4 is looking that hot, cause it's not. It looks like an Xbox game with high res backgrounds. But to compare what looks like an almost complete game to a tech demo that does nothing but look very, very nice for 10 seconds is unfair.

Too bad Tekken's gameplay sucks so much... sort of like controling a retarded version of Street Fighter.

EDIT: Oh, and I agree that the DoA4 shots look like DoA:U... But then again, how much better can you get, honestly? We're hitting a ceiling here.

That's a laugh, and too bad DOA is like controlling a Japanese guy's wet dream...

Oh wait, that's all DOA ever was.

I agree, I dont see what the big deal is about those NOT-screenshots.

Point well taken. I suppose it isn't fair for me to interject without having seen some in-game shots of next-gen Tekken first.

I must say though that I'm highly disappointed in how DOA4 is turning out at this point and I don't expect it to get any better.

didn't someone say before that the screenshots of DOA4 we posted here weren't screens, but concept pre-renders. Then these come out, and it looks like 2 or 3 are right from that batch we posted.

How long before Itagaki switches to the more powerful system, anyway? MS have shamed both him and his entire family.

Well, I saw the video clip that all these screens come from, so I can say that these are probably not renders. The video looked like gameplay (it would have been more well-done if it was a render). So I'm assuming these are gameplay also.

gametrailers.com was where I saw the video. As I said, I believe it to be gameplay.

And nah... it doesn't look much better than what the xBox does already. But on the other hand, there are various versions of art and the forms it takes are diverse. Just because World of Warcraft doesn't have the smacking realistic graphics of Everquest II doesn't mean that it's not a supperior game. It also doesn't even come close to showing the capacity of the platform it's on. Additionally, it does what the manufacturers wanted: it looks artsy in their own unique way. I think that DOA 4 is exactly what people want (the people I know who like DOA are loving DOA4) and I think that it's exactly what the developers were aiming for.

Even the hardest, most glazed-over game here has to admit that in no way does it look BAD. It just looks DIFFERENT than everything else. Not all of us crave the full-on realism in every game we play. The anime style appeals to a much different crown than the Tekken crowd. Personally I can't STAND tekken. Even if it looks nice (which we don't know yet and won't know until we get some NON-RENDERS).

This probably the least impressive graphically of the Xbox 360 demo games I have seen, but the gameplay looks amazing -- watch the DoA 4 video listed there http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/37069

Jann Lee's "stairs, meet face" move is one of the slickest things I've ever seen in a fighting game.

I still say that it's a updated game with better backgrounds

Dude, that man has hair on the back of his neck. Seriously, check it out. I almost did not reject him as fake, and we've all read that experiment. My belief, however, with DOA is that it is not a new game - just an update to be released for the new hardware. Like all the SNES games that ended up on the Saturn.

The shame is that along with VF3, a much better game, DOA was the first game to have graphics that had this hyper-realistic plastic style which remained state of the art for some time. Now, it is lagging behind.

Hey guys, you know what looks waaaaay better than than DoA4 and is on the PS2?

Final Fantasy X!

Not the parts that you play, but rather the story parts. Man, the PS2's power must be amazing to be able to show graphics like that!

I wish everyone would note these are most likely CG screens that aren't even final. It's also quite possible that the DOA shots are in game, but the Tekken shots are definately from a cut scene or something. That alone would make a huge difference on which one looks better from the screens. Save the whining and bashing of the games til ya get to actually play them.

It's not the best looking 360 game that's for sure.

i bet it was being developed for xbox 1 and ms just made a deal with them to pretty it up a bit more for the 360 launch

also don't knock doa until you fully understand it's gameplay mechanics, it's far more deep than anything else and it's easy for beginners to pick up and button mash (the main problem you have with it i'm guessing).

Man, could we get a big blazing healding up on the frontpage saying : "HELLO? ALL THE PS3 VIDEO WAS CGI!" so some of these guys would get a clue?

Anway, yeah this isn't very impressive. Just like PD0 and Kameo, it was originally a Xbox 1 title and was ported forward.

probably jumped mid development like alot of those ps2 launch titles that looked like ass.

The orginal Soul Calibur looks better than this, and it was running on DC.
