Gamespot has an incredible video of the next Killzone running on the PS3. Do yourself a favor a check it out here (http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/killzone2/media.html?gcst=killzone2_ot_ps3_051605.asx)
This can't be realtime....

Looks damn good. Gears of War is up to par with this. Like I said before, this generation the graphics on all the systems are going to be very similar (although, after the Nintendo not supporting HD announcement, i'm not so sure.)

I also like the video of the new F1 Game also on Gamespot!

If that's gameplay footage.... fark.
If it's cgi, then nice work.

bape.. thats rigth, this war will not be fougth with graphics as the ps3 it's only slightly more powerfull than the 360. Again, since online means pretty much nothing to me (Xbox Live its not avaliable in .do, and im not a huge fan of multiplayer) i wont be picking up the 360, the ps3 its a must and i will buy whatever nintendo sells. sighs... i guess i will have to sell my kidney

If that is realtime... drool.
I'm still going to hold out on getting any of the next-gen systems till after they've built up a nice library, but things are looking good on the visual front. Maybe I can put the money I save towards getting one of these fancy HDTV's everyone's talking about :)
I would rather play this than Halo. I'm not sure what it is, but the Halo games have never really grabbed me. Maybe it's just because every drunken frat boy has played Halo and thinks it's the best game ever invented. Maybe it's because I don't play multiplayer FPS's. I like the feel of the Killzone series, even though the first one was not great, tech-wise.
Granted, I'd rather just play my FPS's on my PC, thank you very much.

If this is the clip shown at the PS3 unveiling, it can be found at gametrailers (http://www.gametrailers.com), along with a few others (including the ff:av clip). And no, I don't work for the website. :p

I agree this clip looks fantastic, and it appears to me to be realtime, but thats just my opinion I guess...
I guess I am lucky and already own a Samsung DLP HDTV!
Now all I need are some Next Generation consoles...
Edit: Fine, I guess it's NOT realtime... shows how much I know...

It is not realtime. A guy on Eurogamer has confirmed this was made by some Scottisch media company. Anyway... it is Killzone guys.... no hype could make this game good.

The IGN PS2 editors confirmed on the IGN boards that the video was not real time. The only real time part of Sony's presentation was the UE3 demo.

Sorry kids... just more Sony CG hype.
Despite all the comments the first game got, it had me curious though I'll admit to never having picked it up. Maybe now I'll have to tinker around with it so I can at least give the second game a whirl. Even though that's not realtime, that video was still pretty exciting.

Yeah, it was definitely a cool video. Killzone 1 wasn't all THAT bad, and I'm sure they'll fix some stuff up now that they've got more horsepower. I'll be watching this one.
I would rather play this than Halo....Maybe it's just because every drunken frat boy has played Halo and thinks it's the best game ever invented.
The hell does that have to do with anything? A certain demographic enjoys something therefore you can't as well?
Does that make sense to anyone else?

Nope, it doesn't make sense. Then again in my time on forums I noticed that not everybody, let me correct that, I'd say most people don't make sense. So I just move on.

Killzone and Motorstorm videos are now 99.9% to have been produced by independent animation studios. The Killzone one is by Axis Animations in Glasgow, apparently, the Motorstorm one by some other animation team.
Great!

My eyes just had an orgasm.
I havn't heard news of the PhysicX chip in any of the new consoles, but does ne1 know if it has been implanted within 'em? It's not real-time, so who knows.

What's that I smell?... mmm it's smoke, and hey look at this mirror I just picked up.
Pretty pre-rendered movies tell me nothing about what a console can actually do. Thumbs up to the crews that made the movies though, they looked very nice.

Too fucking bad it isn't realtime :[

Sony are a set of tossers with smoke and mirrors. I knew this reeked of bullshit :D
Ha haa cmon Sony show us real footage of games. Not videos of what they will look like
*edit*
I wished like everyone else though that this was realtime.

With all the hype for this machine, if Sony *isn't* able to make in-game graphics this good then they're in trouble.

Christ, I'm glad I read the thread before viewing the clip. Still I must admit the clip looked awesome. Almost made me want a PS3.

Sony always cheats like mad on the demos. That being said the "Unreal Engine 3" and "Fight Night" games were shown in real time, they could be paused and the camera could move around the scene.
If you want to see actual PS3 gameplay check out "Killing Day" by Ubisoft and "Untitled FPS" (by Insomniac) at gametrailers.com

I'm sorry.. but it seems to me that Microsoft is taking their console a little more seriously than Sony in this case. At least that's how I see it, considering they haven't given us pre-rendered crap yet. Although they've been known to do that too (Amped 2 anyone?).
Sony needs to be careful here. Like someone else said, if they can't deliver on these visuals they are indeed in major trouble. Everyone is expeting amazing things and they'd better deliver that now.

Keep in mind also that the original 'Killzone' was very linear and very cramped -- Doom III levels of corridor running at times. I actually have little doubt that these are in-game models and resources (the reloading and viewpoint is very nearly the same from K1), however scripted they may be. But the "level" in this demo reel was not that open.
Give us 16-player online, manned vehicles, 20+ multiplayer levels, and a friends list and this could be a threat to Halo 3.

I already made my decision. I'll be picking up Sony and Ms new consoles. When the new Nintendo drops in price, and good, original software ships, I may pick it up then.
I don't think that was real time. I didn't see any HUD displayed at all, which is a bit weird since it's a standard in FPS. Secondly i'm skeptical since the first Killzone and Nam '67 were both total ass. Maybe they'll step up their development skillz, but they have a crappy track record so far.

Wait wait wait... The company that broadcasted a complete pile of shit on MTV and at their conference made an entertainment show of it (two bands at the conference for example) is taking it more seriously? It seems to me they are jerking off and letting everyone watch. In addition, microsoft has shown a lot of pre-rendered crap.
Neither companies are angels in the PR scene, its the way the business goes.
The second paragraph I'll agree with (only because I want them to deliver, same with xbox360/revolution), but I doubt there would be much repurcussion if they don't end up delivering.

I dont think they ae in trouble, because they got away with it when they launched the ps2, the emotion engine sucked ass. But still I bought a ps2.
Itīs so pre rendered, and when the machine comes, the hype is so big, people will forget about how good it looked at this e3

I guess gametrailers had it wrong in their index. That's good news though. Insomniac does very good work.
