Oldboy is one of the greatest films I have seen in a long while.

i love how borat keeps shoving it to the hollywood camp... someday i'll have to see the movie, or any movie from the last few years for that matter...

Caught a sneak preview of The Holiday (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0457939/) this weekend. It's a by the numbers, holiday, chick flick, but all in all it wasn't bad. Something to take those of the female persuasion to and not feel the need to claw your eyes out while watching it.

Nothing in theaters really interests me right now (although I do want to take my girlfriend to see The Nativity Story and Facing the Giants). But I did watch Superman Returns on DVD this weekend. That was great.

I've watched Oldboy and Mr Vengence and while both movies are really good, they both left me feeling drained and like I'd just been sucker punched. It's amazing when a movie can do that to you, but god are they depressing. I'll probably watch Mrs. Vengence when I've built up the courage again.

I'll second that, but also add that even though you'll likely feel emotionally drained after Lady as well, it's not quite as depressing as the others. The ending, while sad, is also sort of uplifting.

I don't know, the bit with the ghost at the end? Just because Geum-ja finally wants redemption doesn't mean she'll find it.

Did like oldboy for its visual qualities and first 3/4 of the story, but the whole ending didn't do it for me. Way over the top.

What a shitty list by the way. Only Borat's cool.

I might watch it just to see how well Jack Black plays the straight man. At least that's how the commercial seemed to place him.

Personally, I think he could do really well. King Kong showed he had some talent.

Weird, after a long hiatus on my netflix list i got through Mr. Vengeance just this weekend.

I liked Oldboy better, but both movies were excellent.

Oldboy was great, but was disappointed by the Mr and Lady Vengeance movies. The ending of Lady Vengeance should have been cut by a good 20 minutes. It drug on way too long.

Incorrect.

Other than the unattractive Bond women and horrible intro music video, Casino Royale was...oh what am I saying, Bond is nothing without those things! :(

In all seriousness, it was pretty good. The chase scene at the beginning was amazing.

Eva Green was definitely a hottie, not one of the unattractive Bond women you speak of. If you didn't think so, you must be a 'mo.

Happy Feet was a bit contrite in some areas but the music and visuals are great.

:) ????!!!!!!

so in that equation on how many cats you will have, if you don't have any smiles does that mean you have infinite amount of cats?

Every time you use a smily, an angry scotsman kills a kitten.

Deja vu was an ok movie, but I probably wouldn't watch it again. Everybody I saw it with really liked it though. I also saw the fountain. It was an incredible movie on the artistic side of things, but the story sucked.

Watch The Dreamers and try to call Eva Green unattractive. I dare you.

My movie watching list included the two Korean films, The Host and Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Chan-wook Park is my new god. There are some fantastic Korean films out there if the vengeance trilogy has piqued your interest.

Try anything by Kim Ki-Duk (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring or Samaritan Girl are good places to start) or if you like the main character from Oldboy, check out Crying Fist, its the best boxing movie in years. Also, Brotherhood (Taegukgi) is supposed to be great, but I haven't seen it yet.

I thought it was entertaining - definitely aimed at the younger set, and they didn't sing my kind of music, but it was still enjoyable. I'd recommend a matinee or a rental at least.

I loved The Dreamers. :)

Doesn't "Van Wilder 2" not actually have the character named "Van Wilder" in it anymore? How can this even be a Van Wilder movie?

...okay?

Eva Green is unattractive.

Geez, that was easy.
