View Full Version : Dumb Parents try to trade Kids for PS3.

In a move one can only describe as "asshatish." Parents fall for a fake radio contest (http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/entertainment/16069842.htm?source=rss&channel=twincities_entertainment) where the station claimed to be giving away PS3's. What did they ask for in return you ask? YOUR CHILD
Just how far will people go to get their hands on a new PlayStation 3? Just ask KDWB-FM, 101.3's morning show host Dave Ryan, who on Tuesday morning asked folks if they were willing to give up their baby for 24 hours in exchange for one of Sony's highly coveted video game consoles. More than a dozen people called to offer up their kids, but only a few realized it was all just a gag.
So this begs the question. What would YOU give up for a PS3?

Amen on that.
However, 6 months worth of pocket lint could be used to make a nice hobo blanket so I may want to hang on to the lint.

If anything happens to that kid, sue the radio station, if nothing happens, it's a free PS3.

Dont get why the parents are dumb. Daycare is expensive. What, did they really think the radio station would kill their kids and eat them for diner? Obviously not.

It happened to me. I lost two children to a radio station who claimed to have the same kind of contest only to eat them........ :(
Now I look back and ask myself: "Was a chance at getting a Gizmondo worth it?"
Most days the answer is no......most days.

I'd be willing to have a kid just to sell it on the black market in exchange for a PS3. I mean, come on, it's just a kid. I flush millions of them down the toilet clinging to a piece of tissue paper every night. PS3s are much more rare (and thus valuable) than children.

Johan's got lots of kids...maybe I could create a diversion, possibly using bees, and steal one to trade for a PS3. I bet nobody at his house would notice for a few days...he's got what, 40 of them or something? ;)

I would give a helluva lot to fast forward a year from now, so that idiots like these parents can have their PS3.
Can we put Sony laptop batteries in there, to do away with some of these fools?

What, you don't want free babysitting for a day and a free PS3?
Depends?!? Do I get my kid back?
But seriously I think I might have some spare paperclips and some rubberbands that I would trade for a ps3. But until any games come out that I want to play they are not getting any money from me.

No problems with the PS3 from me...my problem is I've still got N64, Xbox, 360, PC and DS games I haven't even played yet (but which I own), so spending 500 or 600 on a system for MORE games I have no time to play would be a dumb, stupid, butthead move on my part.
So, I guess I will be getting a PS3, after all! ;)

Unless your kid is born on the floor of your living room (like two of mine have been! Two others were in a hospital) you're going to pay thousands for delivery in a hospital...
Not such a good trade, when that is considered. :D

I'm not even sure I'd give up $500 for a PS3, to be honest.
Well i don't really want one that much. However if i was one of you i'd probably be willing to give away some internal organ or finger etc.

Yeah, do not see the big deal, they were only turning their kids over for 24 hours, and to a radio station on a publicity stunt, which would lend me a great deal of comfort. People "shocked" by this are the "please think of the children~!" types, or did not actually read what it entailed. The fact the radio guys thought this was a good gag? Now that is sad.

It was a good gag. It made some people look very stupid and exposed their ridiculous greed.
And in the end, isn't that what jokes are all about? *eye twinkle* :p

I see no downside for the parents. Free 24hours of daycare plus a free PS3? Sounds like a steal.

Anyone who offers you something valuable in exchange for your children is not looking to read them stories.
Let's just leave it at that.
