1UP has an interview up (http://xbox360.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3140498) with Peter Moore of Microsoft regarding MS's 1st Party titles. One of the interesting things he talks about is the recent Halo 3 comments, that is, Halo 3 will launch along side the PS3.
"Halo 3 will ship when Halo 3 is of a magnitude of quality that the Halo nation will not string us up from the flagpole outside," he continues. "It's bigger than simply being a blunt instrument to take on PS3. Say the PS3 launch is in November, then you say Halo 3 is coming in the spring of 2007? Here's what it's like: people will wait."
Exactly.

Who do I trust more, Peter Moore or Bill Gates? I know, bad question. Though Peter never actually said it wouldn't ship against the PS3, just "when it's ready". Which, for all we know it could be ready to go today and it's just sitting on the shelf waiting.

Exactly.
With all respect to Peter Moore and Bill Gates I bet their "Halo 3" conversation goes as follows:
Moore: Halo 3 won't be rushed.
Gates: You don't know shit. PS3 launches next friday I want to see Halo 3 in stores 24 hours before it.
In other words - Halo 3 will be ready just in time for PS3.

In other news:
Peter Moore has recently left Microsoft citing "Creative differences". He plans to move to Antarctica to live out his remaining day in retirement.
Anonymous sources within Microsoft claim that Moore was canned for quote "Being the biggest fucking moron on the face of the Earth" and "Not knowing when to keep his fucking mouth shut."
Seriously what purpose does saying something like that serve? No one was dogging Microsoft for rushing a product.
They've already proven that people will mindlessly swarm to a Halo sequel in droves, even without seeing anything that would be compelling enough to part with their hard-earned cash. Valve & Blizzard have already proven that a company can sit on something indefinetly, slowly inching it towards greatness and the public will lap it up.
Bungie/MS have nothing to worry about... they can actually ship it "when it's done". Now Rare should really start earning their keep.

No one was dogging MS for rushing a product? I guess those truckloads of people complaining about a brutally chopped story in Halo 2 were figments of my imagination.
Ok, Bungie has shown us that they can do multiplayer, and in truth, that alone will probably entice me to buy Halo 3. However, unless they acutally spend a reasonable amount of time on the single player portion, I will be desperately trying to resist the purchase.

Hmm, seems the master thinks differently.

"when it's done"- maybe they should define what they mean by that. They said the same thing about Halo 2. Just stopping the game whenever you want to doesn't mean it's done.

1. Bill Gates pwns Peter Moore even more than Gates pwns me.
2. Saying "It'll be ready when it's ready" immediatly makes him an asspuppet. The first guy who said it was an asspuppet, and every person since then that has said it has been an asspuppet. Welcome to the land of asspuppets.
That's what I was gonna say... Then I remembered he helped to make Halo, and thought differently.

You need not worry. The more advanced PS3 will have better and larger game library than the 360's only "hope" (halo 3) anyways.
