Brave: The Search for Spirit Dancer has neat looking screenshots, but I have never heard of it before, ever... Looks like nothing else is coming out at all as far as games go. I'm looking forward to seeing Superman Returns for the first time, and checking out Superman 2: The Richard Donner Cut. I've heard it is like 80% new footage or something, essentially an entirely new movie with a more serious tone. The only footage included from the director that replaced him was for the scenes he never got to shoot before being fired.

Other than Clerks 2, I can thankfully not make a single purchase this week.

HORSEZ!!!

I'm glad for these relatively empty weeks following the insane dump of games earlier in the month. I can actually walk into an EB, look at the shelves and have absolutely nothing interest me. My wallet is happy.

I'm just glad those Superman DVD's are finally out. Maybe my comics will have some new ads instead of the 8 page spreads that take up the entire middle section of every issue of every book I get!

My first DVD purchase in several months might take place this week.

Bryan Singer's first Superman movie may not be perfect (flaws aplenty) but I want to do what I can to support the production of future projects involving Superman and Bryan Singer (I think Singer earned his comic book movie stripes). If DVD sales alone can result in Serenity, I'm willing to sacrifice $15 on Superman Returns in the same regard.

Gorvi, you live right down the road from me. I'm in Palm Harbor.

oh, I need that Donner cut of Superman II. The wiki article on it is very interesting.

Anyone here seen an advance screening of Rise of Taj that can let us know how truly terrible it is? I love Van Wilder - but this seems like an inevitable failure.

Which series has longer titles:

1) Lord of the Rings
2) Star Wars

I always thought it was Star Wars (e.g. "Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption"), but now, after seeing "The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-earth II, The Rise of the Witch-King", I'm not so sure.

I'll be venturing out in the snow tomorrow to pick up Superman Returns on DVD. First thing I'll do is fire up the plane crash rescue scene.

Anyone else felt disappointed by clerks 2? I understand it was a nod to the fans of the first movie, but it was kind of uninspired.

Anyways, im getting the new sims expansion for the wife.

Why did Superman put his head down before ramming thru the plane's wing?

That seems very odd and inconsistent with his near invincibility status.

Singer even demonstrate Superman's toughness by shooting a bullet to Superman's eye.

I like that the European release dates are grouped according to Game System (PC, XBox, DS, etc.) which lets me get to my game system (PC) without having to hunt through the list. Could this be done with future editions of The Weekly Release?

Thanks!

I think this is the beginning of a long winter drought......actually I take that back, next week has some big releases and then after that comes the drought.

Well, there are some games coming out in January and a bit later in the spring that I"m looking forward to. You've got the second wave of Wii games, whenever they arrive (Mario, Metroid, Wario, etc.) plus games like FFVI Advance, Rogue Galaxy, etc.

Granted, 2-3 games as opposed to 15 is still a drought.

Thing is, we don't know when we'll see the majority of those games. I think Rouge Galaxy will be the first to come out on that list, late Feb.

Really? I thought it was out mid-late January. I'm still looking forward to Lumines Plus on the PS2.

And my gosh-darned razza-frazzin' wireless Red Octane guitar...

I'm not really complaining though. I can stand to have a few months of minimal game purchases. My bank account needs to know what it's like to be on the positive side of zero.
