Gamespot has some amazing new video (http://www.gamespot.com/x360/action/darksector/media.html?gcst=darksector_ot_mul_051205.asx) up for Dark Sector. Announced for the xbox 360, this game looks like it'll defintiely be a great stealth/action franchise to kick the next-gen off with. It's being developed by Digital Extremes (aka those guys who made a little game called Unreal).

Looks completely awesome. If they can pack a great story and no real gameplay issues into what I can see, it'll be a killer property. Go Canada!

When I view this video, it looks black and I don't know why.

Yet more evidence that, no matter how much money they've sunk into it, MS should can Perfect Dark 0 and focus on stuff that'll show off their new system better-- such as this game. Hot damn.

It looks pretty good, for a next gen game. I personally think that what we've seen of Ghost Recon 3, Gears of War, Ninety Nine Nights and others has been much more impressive, though. Shiney chrome isn't all that amazing, any more.

Still, my distaste for the generic art direction aside, it could be a cool game.

The guards all seem the same, lol... but yes, this game does look very awesome. I hope it just ends up being better than Pariah, since these games are both totally original IP by Digital Extremes.

Morralan: I'm just trying to not be too jaded yet about next-gen games. :) This looks way better than any current gen console game (check out the AWESOME self-shadowing, down to very detailed hand shadows), so even though it's probably only 50% (if that) of what next-gen hardware is capable of, it's still a nice big step up. I'm coming in with my expectations set by the MTV special....

I liked Dark Sector better as an MMOFPS.

Is it just me, or does this look like a combination of System Shock, Thief and Splinter Cell starring the cyborg Ninja from Metal Gear Solid?

Not that it's a bad thing.

I could go for something with the aesthetics of Thief set in a System Shock universe.

Looks nice... Although some of the animations look a little stiff. Still, overall, it's looking good.

This game is going to be awesome, Hopefully it will look just as good on PC

Notice how, as the graphics get better, you're drawn towards other flaws: The walking in dark sector is plain unrealistic, and sticks out like a sore thumb. Hope they fix that.

The morphing suit looks interesting, let's hope they can create some innovative gameplay with that. The rest seemed standard fare to me, but I'll reserve judgement until I see a demo of actual gameplay.

I was intrigued by one snippet from the commentary; the idea that you're not avoiding the guards, but stalking them. Death to namby-pamby stealth games!
