Week 47 of the Comic Day! comics discussion thread (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21287) has been posted. Hit that sucker up for some serious, intelligent discussion on what comics are coming out this week and what we will all be reading. If you need a list of everything being released this week, head on over to Diamond's shipping list (http://www.diamondcomics.com/shipping/shipping_112206.txt). My picks of the week:
New X-Men Omnibus -- It'll be a while till I'm able to pick this hefty volume up, but if you've never had the chance to read Grant Morrison's wonderful run on New X-Men, now you've got no excuse. Collecting all 40 issues of Morrison's well-written saga in one beautiful, massive oversized hardcover, this is going to be $100 well-spent to give you some good reading over the holiday season.
Punisher: War Journal #1 -- The Punisher finally returns to the Marvel universe proper, hunting down super-villains during Civil War in this new ongoing series by Casanova writer Matt Fraction. If Fraction can pull of the same frenetic, never-know-what'll-happen-next excitement here that he does in his Image work, this is sure to be worth it.
X-Factor #13 -- A jumping-on issue for those who haven't started picking up this fantastic Peter David-penned book yet. After the crazy and traumatic events of the first twelve issues, X-Factor takes a trip to the therapist. Peter David being as handy with dialogue as he is, I expect this is going to be a very fun issue.
Question of the Week: The Evil Avatar Comic Book Awards 2006 continue with our week four question -- what is the best single issue released this year? Make a choice, and tell us why!
