I'm keen on the Gladiator. That was always one of my favorite baddies from Q2, and if that render is the final model Raven did a bang-up job of updating it.

These are at least a year or two old, and they were actually stolen from a computer at Raven that was infected with a trojan and leaked to the 'net without permission.
Raven, id software and Activision were all very pissed off when this got leaked and have repeatedly asked game websites not to display or link to them.

It was not an internal breach of security ( i.e. wasn't a trojan virus ). That's all I can say.

The story I'd heard when these shots first showed up a couples years ago, is that an artist who worked for Raven quit/was fired/etc. (regardless, it wasn't on the best of terms). He/she then released these sketches and renders on the net.
I have no idea if it was true or not, but made for some salacious gossip at the time.
