There's a Company of Heroes Preview up at Gamespot. Included are 5 screenshots, the E3 2005 Trailer and an interview video!

Company of Heroes will attempt to combine riveting, accessible real-time strategy gameplay with the cinematic sensibilities of blockbuster World War II movies and TV series, like Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. Yes, Company of Heroes takes place during the second World War, but calling it nothing more than "a World War II real-time strategy game" is selling it short. This is because the game will introduce as much groundbreaking new gameplay as it will dazzling visual effects as part of Relic's overarching plan. The studio isn't just out to make a great real-time strategy game; these guys are out to advance real-time strategy as we know it. From what we've seen, it could be very hard to go back to the real-time strategy games of yore after this.

Check it out here (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/companyofheroes/preview_6124417.html). Check the media section for the screens and videos.

I know I'm a Relic Fanboy, and I'm "required" to like this, but holy crap that looks good for an RTS.

Oh, and because there is no better place to post this....

I am sick of Gamespot's mother f'ing website screwing up every damn computer I own because of their f'd up scripting shizit for their advertisements.

I'm a complete member, so I wouldn't know. :)
I love GameSpot's site layout. It just makes sense.

As to this, the graphics are AMAZING, but what I loved to see what tanks rolling through buildings. Supposedly EVERY object in the world is destructable via physics. From what I saw, that looks to include the buildings in the dense urban areas we saw, as well. I hope that this doesn't simply mean that each building has an amount of damage it can take before falling, but that it is truly destructable.

It looks like this game might be more towards the Myth template than the Warcraft 2 template. I didn't see much to indicate any real sort of base building or resource gathering. Though, granted, there wasn't ALL that much to see.

hehe yeah, hopefully the houses don't have like 100 hit-points, and once they reach zero, they just pop with a quick little explosion and disappear.

There was a massive preview for this game in PC Gamer, and they addressed the "hit points" issue. Thankfully, this appears to be the real deal, with real location specific damage. They also mentioned the ability to create cover by making craters and that your troops would recognize new craters as cover they should seek. What was particularily impressive was a before-and-after screenshot of a battleground, and needless to say we're in for destruction on a level never before seen on a PC.

Or to a PC. All that smoke and shadow. Every bullet seems to have an animation and a reaction type graphic. Plus if the underlying mechanics are that complex... But, it looks great in motion. The problem is, I was suffering the delusion that I wouldn't have to upgrade my machine for awhile...
