IGN appears to have gotten a sneak peak of the nextGen's 2k Sports NBA installment. Here's a couple of snippits..
we recently learned that the NFL 2K developers were combined with the NBA 2K team to begin work on NBA 2K6 for the Xbox 360
While the footage looked pre-rendered, Moore promised that it was the real deal -- realtime, in-game footage. He also stated that the development team was aiming to reach the same level of quality displayed when the court was packed with 10 players.

Filerush has a zip of two short videos, containing short clips of footage from NBA 2K6, Quake IV, PGA Tour 06, NFS Most Wanted, madden 06, Kameo, Gears of War, Ghost Recon 3, PGR3, Call of Duty 2, The Darkness and Saint's Row.

It's the first bit of footage in ages that's had me saying "No Way!" and variations, mixed in with swearing for a good 20 seconds.

Surely this is pre-rendered like the NFL 2k6 footage shown a little while back?

I don't think it's pre-rendered, like the model doesn't look any more detailed than other 360 titles. What is amazing is how that model is animated, the movement of clothes and muscles and fingers.

ok the animation on the nba2k6 trailer must have been scripted. there's just no way it could be looking that smooth already. As for it being pre-rendered, I wouldn't be suprised if the xbox 360 could handle that. I'd actually be a little disapointed if it couldn't.
