Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com) has posted six freshly squeezed screenshots of GSC Game World's S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Check them out (http://www.shacknews.com/screens.x/oblivionlost/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:+Shadow+of+Chernobyl/1/051305).
THQ will be displaying the game at this year's E3.
Crazy bump-mapping.

Remember when this game was almost suffering from media over-exposure? Every other day had new screenshots, gameplay vids (some over 100mb), or a preview. Now that it's been delayed so much you hardly hear of it at all.
This sorta mirrors my own excitement for the game. It used to be the one game I was looking forward to most, bar none. Now, well, I'm still excited about it, but not nearly at the same level.
I really, really hope that after all these delays, they deliver on what they've promised.

The previous batch of screens was dissapointing. This one turned it around.

I'm very impressed with these screen shots. Also a heck of a lot better than PD0 :D

What the hell happened to the textures?
I agree. They used to be insanely crisp.

I wonder if this will be released on Xbox 360? Haven't had a proper chance to look at the screens from PDZero, but the playable footage on MTV last night was very underwhelming.
I think this game looks just fine. It may not be up to the techincal standards of Doom 3 or HL2 but it could end up playing better then both of them.

I'm glad this has been delayed if it helps get the gameplay working properly. The graphics have always seemed "good enough" for the sort of game it's setting out to be. What's important to me is that the gameplay is fun. I'm thinking of something vaguely similar to a futuristic Morrowind, with the ability to wander around into different areas and run across interesting places and encounters.
The textures are horrid. Didnt the devs say this game would be photo realistic?

When is this game coming out? October? And already its looking amazing. But I can imagine this game will require more intensive testing than most games, since stalker is so non-linear. MS better watch out or their next-gen console is going to be outshined by this.
EDIT: Amazing trailer, Rain. Great ending too.

Just like the others said, what the hell happened to the textures? It looks like they cranked the bump-mapping up to 11 and compressed all the textures to hell.
I have a gut feeling that says this game will be a colossal let down. This game should have come out last year, maybe I would have played it.

It'd have been a colossal letdown if it was released last year, buddy.
I saw the trailer. I don't like havok and the gibbing effect, otherwise everything looks peachy.

I just wish this game would come out already.

Why did they feel the need to go ahead and bump map everything with shiny, lowe res tectures? Before, this game looked insanely good when it was relying on insanely high resolutions. In my opinion, this is a marked step backwards in terms of visuals.
I just wish this game would come out already.
For what they are trying to do with this game, I don't care when it comes out. I just want them to make it like they initially said they would. Cause that would rock.

I have a feeling this game will look like ass next to new games by the time it comes out.
Thats not saying it wont be great, I just think with screenshots like that it would need to be out in the next few months to be all that graphically impressive.

I still think the gameplay is gonna be cool - exploring the area, dealing with the anomalies, scavenging for valuables and duking it out with enemy groups sounds awesome.
But I have to agree, the graphics look like they've been downsized a bit. The lighting is still nice though.
