Wii midnight launch at select Toys R Us

Toys R Us has posted up eighteen stores nationwide that will be doing midnight launches for the Wii this weekend. Obviously, limited quantities will be available.

You can check their site (http://www1.toysrus.com/our/tru/prom/2006wii/index.cfm) for possible updated locations but there is no specific notice saying more will be added.

While the list covers the major areas of the US it is a fairly small number of stores. Is this because Toys R Us may possibly be getting fewer launch quantities than expected or they just don't want all of their stores open at midnight?

Bah, nothing nearby. I guess I'll go to the 24 hour Walmart a few miles away. Nice to see some midnight excitement, though! That's going to be more convenient for me than getting it on Sunday morning.

I already have a preorder in at a TRU but it's not opening at Midnight. I wish it would so I could grab mine and have an all-night game-a-thon with the friends. Stupid Sunday release date! Can we officially give Sony the win (much as it hurts to say it) on release date? Friday is a 10x better day than Sunday.

Toys R Us is the only place I know that will have a midnight sale by my house. Nothin better than sitting out in the cold and rain for hours to buy a Wii--can't wait.
