If you haven't yet noticed, Evil Avatar Radio (http://www.evilavatarradio.com) has had our Stieg Hedlund interview (http://www.evilavatarradio.com/audio/EAR.Interview.Steig.Hedlund.mp3) posted for a couple days now. Check it out at the link provided, via Odeo (http://odeo.com/audio/2429983/view), or on iTunes.

For those who need reminding, Stieg is the first true game development icon we've interviewed on the show. He's been a part of the industry since the '80s, working for such recognizable developers as Koei, Electronic Arts, Sega, and Ubisoft. Most famously, Stieg worked at Blizzard Entertainment as lead designer on two of the most frequently cited examples for "Best PC Game Ever": Starcraft and Diablo II. Stieg is currently hard at work at Perpetual Entertainment, where he's creating a Roman-themed MMO titled Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising.

Our interview with Stieg goes very in-depth into games in general and Gods and Heroes in specific. We cover a whole ton of topics in the just-over-an-hour I spent talking to Stieg, and he's really a fascinating guy, so if you haven't taken the time to check out one of our EvAv Radio interviews yet, this is the one to jump on to! Also: we may or may not briefly discuss penis size. (Yeah, I knew that would draw in the people on the fence.)

Along with granting us the interview, Perpetual Entertainment was awesome enough to give us TEN free spots in the upcoming Gods and Heroes open beta to give away. Here are the lucky winners: bean19, Hemalin, EvilMegan, Asmodan, xauss, Sm!le, Meatbaal, derjester, Ronberk, Kem0sabe

Congrats to all the winners! I'll be contacting you all soon with a request for contact info and more information on when and how you'll be part of the beta. Everyone else, keep your eyes and ears peeled to Evil Avatar for more interviews and contests via Evil Avatar Radio!

Damn! I was hoping I'd win one of those. If anyone plans on not using theirs, look me up!

Maybe you'll get lucky, Mightbe. I know Bean has a hook-up in the community, so maybe he'll give you his. :)

Sweet nectar! Stieg is a designing god and I need something to tide me over until BC hits.

EDIT: I'll even offer a WoW Frost Tabard in-game promo to anyone who hooks me up with a beta spot for gods and heroes.

Hate to break it to you, mightbe, but the G&H open beta may not be starting till after BC hits. Not 100% sure by any means, but still.

Good interview, and some interesting questions. Although now I'm not sure I want to be playing the same MMOs as thecrazyd, based on his criteria.

Great interview all around. I'm not even interested in PC gaming and it kept me listening throughout.

Very exciting, my question didn't get asked but I guess this might give me a chance to find out for myself. Plus I'll get to see how the game runs on Vista.

Though out of curiosity these slots are for the open beta? Doesn't that imply that anyone can play anyway, I mean... it's open.

I can't wait to get home to listen to it =) (Damn work blocking all the fun files)

I guess I will have to pay closer attention to my email...I'm rather notorious for deleting first and regretting later. O.o

No. Open beta just means no NDA. For example, WoW: Burning Crusade is now in open beta, but you still need an invite to get in.

Glad to hear everyone's liking the interview, especially those not interested in PC gaming! That's always a good sign!
