Today Ubisoft announced development of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, scheduled to ship for retail in conjunction with the launch of the Xbox 360 and will also be available on the PS2, Xbox, NGC and PC this holiday 2005.

In Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3, players will embody Captain Scott Mitchell as he commands the Ghosts and Special Forces allies equipped with the IWS in the quest to save the president of the United States, recover stolen nuclear codes and eliminate a vicious band of renegade soldiers hell-bent on unleashing catastrophe. The game, on all platforms, unfolds entirely in Mexico City, where numerous, meticulously researched and detailed environments will deliver complete immersion into the future of urban warfare. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3 will also include multiplayer and cooperative gameplay with exciting new elements, continuing the Ghost Recon tradition of setting the bar for multiplayer action.Check more Ghost Recon 3 details and the first X360 screens (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=25423) over at WorthPlaying.

This game looks so sweet in motion.

From what I've seen, THIS should be their flagship title for the 360 launch. Looks just awesome.

Yeah, I wish PDZ looked this good.

bapenguin, your've seen it?

If those are ingame screens...then. They should really change their art direction because some of the time it looks like a bad photoshop job. I'm not saying there not real screens. Some of them (especialy the first) look fake. The last 2 look cool though

I sure hope they improve the experience of Ghost Recon online.

The interface and setup for GR2 is so shoddy. They should clone the SOCOM online experience wholesale (ie. playing best-of-11 instead of one stinking round at a time, being non-respawn by default and with lots of varied team-based game modes, persistant game rooms/servers to meet and play in, etc), but with their own brand of gameplay.

Sure, you can do some of these things with a good host, but there aren't many good hosts. They need to be default.

I didn't watch the MTV thing but the gamespot Xbox 360 uncovered video had some brief gameplay clips, it looked as good as those screens do in motion.
The 3rd person perspective with the extreme detail in the helmuts is a good way to show off high definition and processing power, a lot of times you don't really notice how detailed a game really is untill you get in that close.

GR2 ran well, and looked pretty. Scratch the surface and it's a pixel hunter. It has the potential to blow SOCOM out of the water (well, we'll see when III comes out for both series), but it needs to utilize XBL a hell of a lot better. Something as simple and small as attaching Clan Tags to everyone in a Clan, to where, in any normal pickup game, you know what Clan everyone is on, goes a long way to creating a community.

Something that Halo 2 is missing as well.

I hope Live on Xbox 360 emphasizes community features like clan tags.

I hope it doesnt blow for PC like GR2 did... oh wait. Seriously, though, the majority of those screens is from first-person perspective, which is good. On the other hand, the majority also have explosions in them, which is bad. We shall see about this one.

the majority of those screens is from first-person perspective, which is good.

Which matters... why? Did they leave out 1st person last time? (No.)

It was the same game from either view. Either more peripheral vision and your character onscreen, or less peripheral vision and no character onscreen.

Wow, if those screens really are in game then rare needs to get a freakin move on with fixing up the new perfect dark game.

Mmmm the graphics look good on these little screens. I can't wait for more detail though.

Fingers crossed as well that it doesn't play shit like GR2 ;)

Damn, that looks really pretty. I actually really like that washed-out, bleached look that they've got.

I'd love to see it in motion.

The 360 is definately reminding me of the Dreamcast at this point, with a lot of games being released on the N64, and PSX, with visually upgraded versions showing up on the DreamCast - Hydro Thunder, Ready 2 Rumble, ShadowMan, Soul Reaver.

And you see on a lot of E3 lists of publishers this year /Cube/PS2/Xbox/Next-Gen

I'm not down with the hud around the screen. Looks like they should be moon fighters in those outfits.

ENTIRELY in Mexico city? That's a letdown, how many gigantic outdoor areas does mexico city have? My favourite missions in the original were not the urban combat scenarios, but the ones in forests, swamps or just wide open russian countryside.

Anybody else think that the bloom in these screens is a bit excessive? Otherwise, they look pretty sweet. Maybe the GUI is a bit much.
