Yes, we all know Burning Crusade was pushed back until January 2007. What we didn't know was specifically when in January.

Now we do:

PARIS, France. – 9 November, 2006 – Blizzard Entertainment® announced today that World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, the highly anticipated expansion to the world’s leading subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft, will be in stores on January 16th in North America and Europe.

Thanks to Blue's News (http://www.bluesnews.com/) for the heads up.

I can hear the collective "Woot!" from the WoW community, myself included.

Blizzard are a bunch of idiots. Some dude hacked my account and used it to do something gold related (couldn't get a straight answer out of blizzard on what, exactly) and they banned my account and locked me out and refuse to talk to me about it.
I went so far as to send them a certified letter demanding they acknowledge this hacking attempt and guarenty my credit card # and other personal information is secure, but they wouldn't do it. Which is awesome. I had to get a new credit card # because they wouldn't talk to me about it. Their response was basically, "We're sorry but we do not negotiate with hackers". Never mind the fact that I'm not a hacker and wouldn't have hacked an online game (don't even know HOW... and wouldn't even if I DID).

So anyways... yeah Blizzard's on my major shit list. I hope they fucking die a horrible death.

Talk to your Credit Card company on getting any charges you had left on the account refunded. Take them to small Claims court, ninety percent of the time they won't show and you will get a default ruling against them. This won't get back your chars or account but it will get your money back. Also the person who hacked your account probably cleaned your chars and deleted them :).

Who is in beta right now? I started a couple of newbie characters to try out the new races. Still low level. If you see Torispelling, or pheobecates running around, it is me. :D

Hopefully they'll do a talent and spell review on Shamans before it ships. I plan on playing my Shaman post-60, but it's going to be incredibly unfun if Elemental is no longer viable (no damage scaling and the fact that people will have tons more HP in BC, thus negating any Shaman burst damage,) and Enhancement just doesn't do crap for PvP even if (I've heard) it's viable in PvE. Hopefully they'll buff Shaman damage a little bit, get rid of the useless talents (Totem Of Wrath? Water Shield that doesn't even scale? A useless pet on a ten minute cooldown?)

Odd for them to fix a date this far in advance.

I wonder when WoW will be considered old news? I was just talking to a guy at a party who is one of the leads on EQ1, which still makes SOE money. They are still pumping out expansions for it, so will WoW hold out for 10 years and get several more expansions?

Hmmm they didn't say what year it would be though...

Anyone know where online that still is taking pre-orders for the Collector's edition? I was debating with myself over it for the last couple weeks and now that I decided on it, I can't find where to get it.

I just started playing again last week, been out of the game since last march.

The same week my exams started.

Smart move...

Funny thing is, I found that about 4 friends all did the same thing, all of us independently of each other.

Exams just do that to you...

I think I'll be skipping the expansion.

I can't take the raid-or-die system, and it's just going to be more of the same, sadly.

Ummm, actually, one of the biggest changes to the expansion is the lessening of the raid or die mentality. The biggest raid dungeons will be 25-man, not the current 40-mans, and they are making it easier to get "phat lootz" through PvP, as well as seemingly pumping up the value of crafted items. If you are like me and do not like the time investment in raiding, the expansion is made just for you. I am stoked about it.

Well, technically 25-man is still raiding, but it will be open to more people that way---not to mention the fact that they're trying to make sure the "gear gap" doesn't get quite as wide as it is right now.
