CVG (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/) is reporting (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=148897&skip=yes) that they have received confirmation from Nintendo that the N64 games that supported the rumblepack will not feature rumble support on the VC.

But when N64 games arrive on the Virtual Console retro downloads system on Wii, they'll lack forcefeedback support, Nintendo has confirmed to CVG in a Q&A regarding the Virtual Console.

This might be due to the lack of a rumble feature in the Classic Controller, which will be the primary controller for playing Virtual Console games on Wii. But with the option to play VC games with a GameCube controller, which does feature a rumble motor, we had hoped that games would retain their pad-shaking features.

That's a bit of a shame. Not a dealbreaker on any game I'd buy, really, but it would have been nice.

Wasn't there an item in Ocarina of time that rumbled the controller to alert you to secret areas? I wonder how, if at all, that would be handled.

That kinda sucks, playing console games that are backward compatible without any force feedback is retarded only Nintendo would be so stupid to let that happen oh wait... :P

Yeah... That really does suck. Any other games use rumbles in a required fashion?

Woah woah, that is NOT a required fashion. All hidden areas can be found without the Stone of Agony, and it just makes catching big fish easier. Now, if you had to time a button press to a rumble in order to progress, THAT would be required. I went through Ocarina of Time without a rumble pack twice and never missed it.

Now, Starfox? That would feel weird not having the rumble, considering it was packed-in.

Do we really care about the N64 library? I mean, there were just so few good games, I doubt this will be much of an issue for me. OoT is already available on at least two different GC discs, and one of them also has MM. Many of us own Super Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 on our DS. That is at least half of the great games right there.

Now MGS series w/o any rumble THAT would be strange seeing as it plays a key part in the games, but we don't have to worry about that now do we oh wait...

It sucks that theres no feedback in the older games but it seems NOBODY every bitches about feedback missing in PS1 and PS2 games where it was of the utmost importance in some cases.

At the time i had my N64, i was able to squeeze out over 20 worthwhile games from it. Sadly, like everything else i owned at that time, i don't have them anymore.

Although the majority of N64 games that I want are mainly from Rare, and therefore, not going to happen. (Blast Corps, i yearn for thee... Perfect Dark with a stable framerate would be incredible...) There were quite a few enjoyable n64 games out there.

I can't wait to see Kirby: Crystal Shards or Paper Mario on the Wii. I don't really need any of the Zelda games, as i have the Zelda collection; but i'd buy Starfox 64 if it showed up, same with San Fransisco Rush, Beetle Adventure Racing, F-Zero X (please please please) and even the more obscure stuff like Mischief Makers (we are getting Gunstar Heroes, so it's possible!). I'd also like to pick up Mystical Ninja and such.

In the collector's disc with OOT, when you played with a wavebird there was no rumble either. I think an exclamation point or something just popped up on the screen.

This is a terrible blow to anyone who wants to find all the gold skultulas in OoT without logging onto gamefaqs (and haven't done it before.)

Hopefully a killing blow, all the while shouting: "Why the hell are you wasting your time with your granddaddy's games?"

Your grandfather's only 8 years older than you?

Rumble is a pox on all of gaming.

To me, at least. It gets turned off right quick in this house.

Don't hate just cause your gramps wasn't a pimp by pre-school.

You could just do what I do, and have someone reading the strategy guide in the seat behind you. When you miss something, they smack you on the back of the head. Instant rumble!

It kinda sucks, but I doubt I'll even notice, as I'll be using a Wavebird for all the VC games as it is.

DASH DASH DASH!

MAN, do I love Mystical Ninja. Nothing beats a giant fighting robot in roller skates with his own theme song.

Unfortunately, that game is CRAZY ugly on a big TV. First generation 3rd-party N64 game. Yikes.

Also, I want everything from Rare, too.

I seem to recall not having trouble finding them.. they make a terribly obvious noise or some such, right?

I don't believe this to be true. Videos from Nintendo World show people playing Super Mario 64, and it is clearly Shindou Super Mario 64. You can tell by the shaking Rumble Pak on the title screen. The one and only difference between regular and Shindou is, that's right... rumble support. Why, then, would they put the Shindou version up for download? Just to remind people of a feature they lack?
