View Full Version : Sega Signs Deal for Iron Man
Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/) is reporting (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=69647) that Sega has signed a deal with Marvel Comics to create Iron Man games.
The deal will also pave the way for SEGA to produce at least one additional Marvel superhero property for next-gen platforms.
Initially though the publisher is aiming to release a game specifically based on the Iron Man film, as the "multi-year" agreement gets under way.

oops. fixed. thanks.

Not unless it's based upon the movie and even then, there's no guarentee. And yes, I know you were trying to be funny, but Robert Downey Jr is a great actor.

I didn't say he wasn't a great actor, I just don't think he's the perfect part for Ironman.

But isn't Stark himself a sarcastic little shit, not particularly physically fearsome? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Not going to happen, this is Sega after all.
They used to be good, but nowadays...

I think Downy would make a great Tony Stark.
SEGA however I do not think will make a great Iron Man game.

What are the chances that this will end up being just like Virtual On?

Poor, because a new Virtua On would be nice.

Yeah, this is probably going to be Altered Beast in metal. Boy did Sega fuck up some of their titles. Sonic, AB, Shinobi, all down the drain.

Hey, if this is based on the comics they could have a stealth/social part where Tony Stark holds parties where he has to sneak around and steal the DNA of other heroes which he then uses to clone then to form his own party to go and attack the real ones! That way you're not restricted to just Iron Man during gameplay. You could even get to play Clor!

Agreed. But given the quality of most of Sega's recent games, this news makes me weep.

Another action game with some half-assed stealth levels tacked in?

My hopes for this game do not match the level of my expectations.

What if it had action levels... and DRINKING levels?
No stealth. Just getting drunk and doing business deals.
So it would be the love child of Zone of Enders and Sims. Hey... that sounds like a good idea.

The link above mentions the Iron Man deal with Sega but also mentions Take-Two has signed a deal for the Fantastic Four sequel.

Didn't Activision get the rights to everything Marvel for a number of years? I am kinda confused how SEGA can get Iron Man as well. Can someone who knows more than I explain?

I already explained it... Licenses for all... I'm thinking it's probably the movie license of the character.
