Leaked Perfect Dark "Screen" Proven False

A supposed in-game shot of Xbox 360 launch title Perfect Dark Zero (http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/xbox-2/ingame-screen-shot-of-perfect-dark-zero-102907.php) has surfaced on the web, claiming to have been taken with a cameraphone at the same party from which recently leaked photos (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2024&) of the console originated.

Looks pretty good, huh? But don't be taken in. The screenshot is from Half-Life 2: Deathmatch map dm_depot (http://www.lanmaniax.com/maps/html/hldm2_depot.htm), with a gun, UI and a few other changes superimposed on top. Unless Rare have licensed the Source engine for their game (unlikely but not impossible) the screen is a confirmed fake.

Thanks to Preys-World.com (http://pwv2.preys-world.com/) for the second image - the only version of the map I could find was RC2, in which the area had been changed.

Update: Looks like this isn’t the only fake (http://www.beyond3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22713) doing the rounds.
Further Update: Another Half-Life 2 fake (http://www.filerush.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=9581) has appeared.

Yeah, I had a bunch of emails on this. Unfortunately, our publishing system doesn't allow me to remove stories if I change the headline. I know that makes no sense, but it's the way it works.

Haha, that fake Varsity posted is pretty neat - I personally hadn't seen the dm_depot level so I had no idea (And I think the same goes for many people, particualrly the Xbox folks).

As soon as I saw this, I knew it was a fake, but not because I recognized it as Half Life 2. Rather, it was obviously false to me because of the aspect ratio and resolution. Considering how much effort MS is putting into hyping the *HD era* I highly doubt that they will be displaying their games in a 4:3 aspect ratio in non HDTV resolution.

I heard that it was the only playable game. Considering that we already have three different possibilities concerning PDZ at the MTV event, I think it is safe to say that we know nothing.
