Cube.IGN (http://cube.ign.com/) is reporting (http://cube.ign.com/articles/611/611688p1.html) that Silicon Knights, whose credits include Eternal Darkness and MGS:Twin Snakes, will use the Unreal Engine 3 for their next-generation games.

Has anyone else heard/read of what SK is working on? The only news I've heard regarding SK aside from this has been their partnership with Sega to make titles for the next-gen systems.

They're doing the new Tomb raider, aren't they?
I've always liked SK, it'll be interesting to see what they can pull off with this.

No, Crystal Dynamics is making Tomb Raider. Silicon Knights hasn't announced any new games in a long time.

I thought Crystal Dynamics was doing the new Tomb Raider. Which they are.

Are they a Nintendo exclusive developer still?

Right, I remember now.

If i remember correctly, hasn't Silicon Knights recently split from Nintendo? This could be good news if they decide to go multi-platform.

So what, is every game next gen using the Unreal 3 engine?

didn't they do the original Blood Omen?

They did indeed do the original Blood Omen.

Given how much Eternal Darkness and Twin Snakes rocked, I'd be more than happy to play whatever these guys put out next... if only someone would tell us what it is!

Yeah. SK consistantly hits out of the park grand slams.
Blood Omen 1 and Eternal Darkness are true classics.

Anyone know what happened to that Cthulu lovecraft game supposed to come out for xbox?

One of their biggest flaws (Blood Omen, ED) was their graphics. This will improve them considerably. Their fans should be quite pleased.

It's still coming. For the PC at least I don't know about xbox but I feel pretty certain the xbox version is still very much alive. Its being published by bethesda I seem to recall. edit: yepp.

Matt Cassamina, the editor-in-chief of IGN Cube, went to their studios the other week and was planning on posting an article that would finally shed some light on what Silicon Knights have been doing. But the permission for posting the article was pulled at the last minute, either by SK or SEGA.

Guess we might find out at E3...

They're working on a game called Too Human. It was first for PS1, then GC, and now... who knows.

Hmm. SK not Nintendo exclusive anymore. Microsoft games studios lisences Unreal 3 for all 1st and 2nd party games. SK signs partnership with Sega (360 friendly) to distribute. SK announces Unreal 3 deal.

hmmm...

Should be good for SK. Seem to be smart guys, but can't put games out fast enough. Content is their strength, and UE3 should allow them to leverage that.
