Worthplaying (http://www.worthplaying.com/) has posted the announcement (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=25351&mode=thread&order=0) from Blockbuster stating they will begin to rent PSP titles by May 17.
It's been quite sometime since I've been into Blockbuster due to my membership to Netflix, but does anyone know if they rent out DS titles?

Yeah, I haven't seen any DS titles...truth be told, I never saw much in the way of GBA titles at my local Blockbuster.

well I don't know about you, but I mostly use my handheld systems for travel purposes only. *shrig* maybe GBA and DS renting is just a niche market

It hardly makes sense to rent GBA games from blockbuster considering how much they charge to rent games these days. Last time I rented a game from Blockbuster it was $7 and since most GBA games are only $20-$30 new it hardly makes sense to drop 1/3, 1/4 the cost of the game just to play it for a week. I'd much rather just read a few reviews if I'm unsure and then either buy the damn thing or forget about it.

Maybe the GBA's lower price is because, as much as I LOVE the GBA, most games can be beat in under 4 hours. PSP games are much longer, higher tech, and many of them are only $40. For the record, many new GBA games are $35.
So, $5 difference on many new games.

My blockbuster doesn't rent either yet, but I suppose the PSP stuff is on the way (they've got Tony Hawk's Underground 2: Remix listed as a buyback title.)
It'd make sense for the user to rent PSP games since the price point is so high, so you don't have to *barf!* and drop all your coins.
;)
Anyone else noticed that recently Blockbuster's selection sucks? Every time I go I have like three or four games in mind, but everything released less than two months ago is usually out of copies and most the time I walk out of there empty handed. I think they're giving all the games to the people on their Netflix-esque service or something.

Usually the story at any major video store.
Prices are up, in stock titles are down.

So they rent PSP but not DS titles? Nintendo = Doomed? Very probably.

in the great south east we have a fine selection of ds and psp games that are all checked all at all times.. it doesnt help that they only stop 2 of each game these days...

Well at the one I always go to they have DS as well as GBA titles to rent, though the GBA selection is very small. This one usually has really good selection and has at least 2 or 3 copies of anything I've looked for and a dozen or so of the big name releases. Oddly enough though when I went there to look for Forza they had all of two copies they were renting out.
