woohoo, after I navigate 27 popup windows maybe I'll get to download it.
EDIT: Don't waste your time. Worthplaying has 4 mirrors, none of them actually work. Like 15 different banner ads just for a link that doesn't actually work. Worthplaying is not worth hitting.
EDIT2: I don't mind links that just end up with "all connections full" or "you're 800000002834 in the queue, your wait is 3 hours", but getting a link that just sits there, doing nothing? that I hate.

I'm downloading. It did take what seemed like a dozen clicks and a few refreshes for it to allow me to download.

I'm very slowly downloading mine from filefront. Ugh, this is a beast of a file.

I agree with 51|Random, Worthplaying does suck. Oh, you mean the demo? I'm downloading that now.

I really want to give this a shot, but if 51|RandoM's experience is typical, I might have to wait until I've ingested enough vodka. That's the only way to dull the pain of Worthplaying's infinite loop of banner ads.
If someone could post their impressions (preferably someone who's played DO and SOTHR before, or at least is very familiar with the tabletop game), that would rock. I'll form my own impressions, but I like to compare it to how others view the same game.

Surprised noones dropped a line on this yet.
Never played the Tabletop game before, but I'm a bit familiar with the world.
Demo is actually pretty impressive.
- It has a very strong Myth vibe to the gameplay, with different formations and no base building.
- You can upgrade your units and buy new ones at trade posts between battles, in the overworld map.
- You gain money from exploring and as spoils for defeating enemies.
- The campaign in the demo is actually several missions long, and is from the Chaos POV.
- Heroes are extremely important, in the Warcraft III vein. Each faction has a couple of different ones, mostly one ranged type and one melee. Each hero can equip different items with bonuses, and has a skill tree that allows them new spells, duel abilities, and buffs to whicever group you attach them to.
- Heroes can duel each other, and have special skills just for that. Heroes that are dueling cannot be interupted by other attacks, but the battle still goes on around them.
- Sieges seem to be important, and the third mission is a defensive one. You can equip units with ladders to scale walls. Or you could just barrel through them with a cannon.
- Graphics are pretty nice, with pretty detailed character models for an RTS.
Issues
- I couldn't figure out a way to combine groups of the same type of units.
- Dwarfs are not a playable faction, and are only in the game as Mercs useable by any side. The same goes for Orcs.
- Camera is a bit wonkey. The sensitivity doesn't seem to scale so its far to jumpy when zoomed in.
- My computer slowed to a crawl during the siege, even after running like butter during the previous missions.
