After playing the demo, I was sad to say this was one of those classic examples of why publishers don't ever want to pick up and support RPG's. It was clunky, dated, and largely dreadful, with a bit of charm and possibility mixed in. Well, Lionheart also had charm and possibility, and it was a massive let down as well.

Did anyone pick the retail of this up? How is it compared to the demo? How much does this patch improve (or not) the experience?

I second that... I was really excited about the game after hearing about it. I played the demo and it was DREADFUL. Lionheart was better, but still not that great... GuildWars is where it's at right now. :)

I got the retail version. It still has some bugs, this latest patch fixed alot of playability problems. Basically its just missing some features now, but is playable(and I hear completable, with the quest working fine now). There's more work to be done, but its fun, and good for a group of friends. The devs seem to be listening on their forums about bugs, and fixing them as they go. I'm not giving up on this game yet.

I was very excited about this game, waited for it for months and the demo was so god awful that I uninstalled it, never to be installed again. How that demo got released, I have no idea. Their QA must be horrible because the demo started and within 5 seconds I was dead. I came back to life and I was dead again. I had no clue what was going on. On top of that, the graphics were dreadful.

If you want an RPG, get Guild Wars, you won't be sorry.
