As we get ready to move into the next generation of gaming, this week's Game Over column on CNN/Money (http://money.cnn.com/2005/05/10/commentary/game_over/column_gaming/index.htm) takes a look at where the industry has come from. Pac Man, that arcade standard, turns 25 this year. The column looks at some of the stories surrounding the gaming icon as well as exactly how successful it has been (which really puts things like Halo and GTA in perspective). Namco also confirms that it's working on Pac Man games for next-gen systems.

pacman is badass when you're so drunk the screen goes flat like super future technology. next thing you know you're hitting up another jager bomb from the large breasted bartender which gives you like some sort of slowmotion power over those damn asshole ghosts.

Just last weekend i got so far into pacman at jabu's that i actually hit stages that were 3d, fucking future man, fucking future.
