A free-flowing game during which players can assume the role of multiple characters and experience the game from multiple viewpoints, Indigo Prophecy allows players' actions to affect the plot by offering a scenario driven interactive experience. Through motion picture techniques such as actor direction, multi-camera views, motion tracking and a contextual music score, players find themselves intimately immersed in the game. WorthPlaying had a chance to check out a demo at a recent Atari press event, here is a snip :

It's tempting to call Indigo Prophecy an adventure game, but that doesn't quite sum it up. Instead, it's a game about the decisions you make. Every choice you have throughout the game will have a series of repercussions, from the negligible to the serious, and will determine the way the rest of the story will play out. If you think to do something in Indigo Prophecy, the odds are good that you can do it.Check out the full Indigo Prophecy preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=25237) over at WorthPlaying.

Wow, that sounds like a really interesting concept for a game. I hope that it turns out well. I'm really interested to see exactly how this game plays and if it really has that "all the decisions you make matter" kind of feel. Fable and a lot of other RPGs try to do that, but I think that the player always knows exactly which actions are the ones that matter in terms of plot and character development. Blade Runner did something like that, but whether or not it was well implemented is totally up to the perceptions of the player. We shall see.

Heard it before, I'll believe it when I see it.

Certainly has sounded interesting in all the previews so far. I still don't understand why its renamed from Fahrenheit to Indigo Prophecy though unless they're worried it might be associated with that lame ass Fahrenheit 9/11 thing.

I am really excited about this game. The only thing that concerns me is playing multiple characters. For example, apparently one playable character is a detective investigating the actions of the main character. It seems to me that playing as the detective would be extraordinarily tedious and pointless, as the player will already know what the main character has done. Thus, it is possible that playing as the detective will be nothing more than thinking "hey, I know that I used the phone when playing as the main character, so now that I am playing as the detective, I think I will dust the phone for prints." I am hoping that it does not degrade into simply going through the motions like this, but we will see.

I am interested, but it really sounds like a rent first, maybe buy game.
