Whenever someone would ask us how we felt about something, my old roommate and I used to constantly reenact the scene were Zangief gives a thumbs up sideways, and Van Damme grabs his fist and turns the thumb right side up. Yeah, we were huge dorks. Still....what a terrible movie! It's one of those movies you talk about and everyone has a good laugh and think "Wow, that was so awful and corny, it's almost good!" and then you actually watch it, and you start bleeding from your eyes and ears, and you realize how terribly wrong you were.

I liked some parts of the first movie, honestly.
But as I've been known to say -- "I like stupid movies!"

That movie has some great scenes. "Quick, change the channel!", the fight on the model city, etc...
It didn't take itself too seriously, and managed to be a little bit fun.

1. Go to google.
2. Enter "cammy" as your search term.
3. Check out the the hits from Google Images.
Kind of odd that I've been able to use this response on Evil Avatar in less than a couple weeks.

I love any video game or comic book to movie where the costumes look exactly like the original material that it's so fake.
I loved MK2, and I loved Street Fighter. And I am alone.

It needs Tim Burton to do a Re-Imagining of the story.

Funny that I found the 5 min skit on College Humor about Street Fighter: 10 Years Later, better than the Street Fighter movie.

The dude writing it is also writing the script for Voltron...
It needs Tim Burton to do a Re-Imagining of the story.
Only if Johnny Depp gets to be Bison.

The problem with the first SF movie was that it wasn't about a fighting tournament. A Bloodsport remake with SF characters built in would have been good. It's why the first MK movie, although cheesy, was fun.
A movie about a female fighter fighting up the ranks of a worldwide martial arts tourny to avenge her father, with the right script and direction, could be a whole lot of fun.

Because we all loved the Planet of the Apes re-make he did. ;)
Presumably, the story would center around a gray Blanka with scissors for hands.

Just yesterday I was telling my friends that they would NEVER remake The SF Movie because of how bad is was... How wrong I appear to be.
All I know is, this movie better come out with Street Fighter 4.

Let's just hope Van Damme is in it and they sneak in some funny references to his... ahem... experience with cocaine.
I'd love to see some crazy Street Fighter computer-animated madness.
Redundant?

I really enjoyed the first half of the movie, the comedy was put into the story to be charming, I really enjoyed how all the characters molded into the same plot. The second half was terrible, all the comedy was out of place, the acting was terrible, and once they put on there costumes the movie was so far gone by that point it was embarrassing.
I really hated how they had to get everyones special fight moves into the movie, and also if you name a movie called "Street Fighter" the least you could do is make good fight scenes.
P.S. I almost threw up when I saw what they made blanka look like

Ya let's see how they cast it.
I am betting some combination of the following actors will appear.
Paul Walker
Duane "The Rock" Johnson
Vin Diesel
Michelle Rodriguez

Paul Walker wouldn't be that horrible as a Ken. He's white, and "pretty". The Rock has no place but a John Cena as Guile. <shrug>

If it's not JCVD, it is not a Street Fighter movie.
God, I love that movie. :D

God damn the SF movie was terrible. I don't even mind bad videogame movies that much (I went to see DOA with my wife and we really enjoyed it) but it bore precious little resemblance to the game, which really pissed me off.
The Streetfighter 2 animated movie, on the other hand, was frickin' awesome and has one of the best soundtracks/scores ever.

BigJonno... For shame, liking DOA. Some of the parts that did really look like it was out of the game were nice. I mean, those scene made me think there was potential there. Alas it didn't happen.

Didn't they kill Ryu in the Street Fighter comic? I seem to remember a major character getting scalped with Balrog supervising.

A remake of a shitty movie?
WHY?
Is anyone else getting extremely tired of all the remakes? Now we're even getting remakes of pieces of shit... What for?
Xerxes

It doesn't sound like a remake. But redoing. Kinda like what Nolan did with Batman. Not following Burton.

Or maybe a sequel? The article mentions focusing on Chun Li this time around.
The article also mis-spells Voltron (as "Voltran") so really, I dunno how much validity there is to all of this :-)
The Streetfighter 2 animated movie, on the other hand, was frickin' awesome and has one of the best soundtracks/scores ever.
Hell yeah, I'll second that... although I went and ordered it online not so long ago (since it was kinda hard to find) and forced my GF to watch it... it was cheesier than I remembered :-/ Still crapped all over the van damme thing.
