<sigh> I haven't really enjoyed an NFS game since "Hot Pursuit 2". (Although I did actually play all the way through the first NFS:U, and really liked the customization options for the cars--at least till Forza came out. =)
But maybe that's just me...

And the reason for that is?
It's the same game, for like the third time.
I personally think three games about underground fast and the furious racing are enough... but EA thinks unlike me, unfortunatelly.
The control is very un-carlike, the drifting addition feels flimsy and unneccessary, etc.
From the demo, actually, the game looked worse than the previous NFS game. And I can't put my finger on it, but it just did.

And the reason for that is?
It looks like shit.
It runs like shit.
It plays like shit.
Any more questions?
EA is the only company I know that can take a good game and destroy it more completely with each passing sequal.

I love how they forgot to give us a button to check behind you and change your view. You're stuck in a the console view of out of car. Sad really.. I loved all the NFS games.. but this time I'm going to pass.
At least they didn't include a steaming ad feature in the demo, (Battlefield) but watch out for the full game.. bet it shows up.

Underground1 was pretty fun. The soundtrack was hot. Underground2, the soundtrack was pisspoor, but the free roam was quite fun. Most Wanted had the most annoying gameplay, and it was ridiculously hard near the end. The cars were better, though. Carbon looks to have fun cars, as well.
I'll judge it based on the demo.

Fuck the rearview mirror shit, Pluvious.
This game is exactly what Grifter said. I expected NFS:Most Wanted ++.. This game is utter shit!
It looks like Twisted Metal on the PS1.
It runs fairly well for me, but that's not saying much at all, given how bad it looks.
The game truely is BAD though.. The muscle cars have ridiculously fake handling. You can drive a 1967 Camaro SS in the game.. The rear tires constantly spin over and over while driving, especially at 60 miles an hour. It makes driving the car very difficult. In drift mode, forget about it. At 50 miles an hour, tapping left or right will cause your vehicle to JERK instantly sideways. I've driven a 1967 Camaro RS before, and I can assure you that I am alive and well, and did not die in a horrible freak accident that caused the car to veer off the edge of a cliff.
Fuck that unrealistic shit.
The Exotic car (a Lambo Gallardo) has crazy handling.. It handles very well in-game.. which is amazing considering the TUNER cars are supposed to be the handling gods. I did not care to try those out, but I can just imagine how insanely retarded and unrealistic they are.
I know it's a demo, but you can't setup the controls, the character (cut-scenes) are very very bad (I considered NFS:MW very nicely done, and enjoyable to watch) .. the COOLEST thing in the game was on the Canyon run (whatever) course.. You fly off the edge of the cliff and it goes all cinematic. That was fun. However, not so fun when it happens a second time. You instantly lose even if it's right near the end of the course.. no way to restart.. it's OVER. I wonder what happens if you push your opponent's car off.
I bet the game yells at you and tells you that you can't do that.

And to think NFS:MW was a step in the right direction compared to the Underground games... :(

Weird, I worked on the team, and we had a rear-view button during beta.
The main problem I had, which was mentioned, was that the car "Classes" didn't make any sense. For example:
-Tuner cars are supposed to be the 'best' at handling, but are generally only slightly better than the Exotics.
-Muscle cars have the advantage of being 'fast off the line," ... which means FUCK ALL when the tracks have tonnes of turns, and the even the Tuners are faster.
If it helps any, the non-PC versions are a thousand times better than the PC version is. We actually tried to CONSOLE (get it? haha) the poor QA guys put on the PC.

as I expected.. console port. Killing PC games if you ask me. Yeah I know the user base is larger in consoles.. but it sure feels like we're getting shafted every new release.

Great. And my dumb ass was looking forward to it. I should have known better. Ill buy a NFS game when it goes back to the hot pursiute roots. All the rice shit is way played out.

I agree, MW was quite good, but the Carbon game (judging by the demo) has absolutly nothing to do with MW. It's a dark, ugly, dull unplayable mess. Better bargainshop for MW if you haven't got that already, at least it looked good and played well, even on PC (joypad required).
