A few weeks ago a story broke that John Woo's Tiger Hill Games' was working on five new titles, revealing three at the time (ShadowClan, Burglar & Sinner). Today Majesco announced Demonik, a new horror-action game under development at Terminal Reality, co-published by Tiger Hill and written by nobody less than Clive Barker.

Demonik is third-person action game that allows players to control the ultimate bad guy--wreaking havoc with a variety of innovative and spectacular powers and abilities.Check more Demonik details and trailer (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=25281 ) off WorthPlaying.

A film tie-in that is also a Clive Barker game? Not the best credentials you could hope for. This could still work, though.

Undying was cool.

and Terminal Reality is a preety good studio, but the fact there is going to be a movie makes me worried.

Not that it had a film tie-in, but Undying kicked some serious ass. Seems like Clive Barker might be better with games than films.

Just watched the trailer. If that's what the next gen is going to look like I'm no longer impressed. Heck, it doesn't even look particularly great for a current gen.

I'm not sure about the premise, which seems to be 'kill everyone and everything' as it talks about both the innocent and the guilty - which pretty much includes everyone. What's the point? Is it just a demon-themed sandbox game? Personally, I find sandboxes boring. I like direction and purpose. ;)

Phades, my thoughts exactly.

Graphics aren't everything, that's true, but come on... This looks very weak for next gen stuff.

I'd be willing to bet it will look a lot better on the screen, by the time it comes out, than in that video.

Seems like it could be a decently fun game. And the movie tie-in doesn't necessarily mean awful things (with the way they are doing it). Playing a game based on characters from a story works fine, watching a movie based on the same story from a completely different perspective also seems fine -- the reason I hate movie games is: they are too similar to the movie and end up being lifeless and boring (with little freedom to do what you want).

However, with that said, I don't think its going to be a smash hit or anything like that (neither the movie or the game). Who knows though.

The Radical Cleric you read my mind. Open sandbox mechanics only work for me in certain games. (I think Morrowind could be considered in this vain)
It's probably why I wasn't a huge fan of the GTA games (which people often critisize me for, well that and how much I didn't like the original Halo)

Oh and incase anybody saw that I traded a game for GTA: Vice City and would be quick to point this out, I bought it for my brother

You know what, I don't think it looks bad. I actually think it's the way the trailer was saved and resaved. It's a 28 meg file, I'll bet the trailer had the shit shrunk out of it, then Gamespot shrunk it again (that's who worthplaying got the flick from). You can see it if you watch it closely, the colors are all messy and it's pixilated.
