Newsarama brings us the nerd news (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=88846):
The trade (Variety) today reported that Marvel Studios has joined with No Equal Entertainment – a Vancouver-based production company – to develop a live-action television series based on Moon Knight.
As Variety explains it, the series “will follow soldier of fortune Marc Spector as he becomes the titular vigilante after an encounter with the Egyptian god of vengeance and moon deity.”
Fantastic! There had been rumors that Moon Knight would be introduced in the Blade TV series if it had continued, but I'm down for a TV show of his own. If they can capture the dark feel the new comic has, it could be very cool.

I love Marvel. They don't know when to quit hammering their own properties into the ground.

Blade's gone? Heh, didn't last long.

In the incredibly off chance that any network even picks this show up, I give it a half season run at best. They're really scraping the bottom of the comic book barrel when they're green-lighting projects for minor characters like Moon Knight.

I don't want to sound negative, I hope this pans out, but Moon Knight? Sure, he's an interesting enough character, but to the average person without much knowledge of comics, he's going to look like a lame attempt to rip off Batman.
I know this is not the case, but try to see this from the average person's perspective and I think you'll see what I'm getting at.

WTF... I hate Moon Knight. I also hate Blade, and I am glad that he won't be showing up on my TV anymore. I can't wait for Super Hiro to drop kick this junk into low-budget oblivion!

For what its worth, I think that Blade had a fairly scary high budget for being on cable. Doing a poor show with that budget is a completely different matter.

How long can it last on basic cable? That comic is visceral, it belonged on HBO.

Super Hiro is the best hero ever.

Hell, I fucking LOVE Moon Knight, but I'll be the first in line to say he's a Batman ripoff. Or at least he started out that way... I haven't read comics in a few years so I don't know if Marvel has re-worked him or anything to make him less of a Batman clone, but I can still call a spade a spade when I see it, even if it IS a super-cool spade.
Anyhow, this is pleasant news for me... They should be able to do MK justice on a fairly modest budget. He was never the kind to fight the big zap-bolt throwing, cybernetic ultra baddies. Pulling the Khonshu trick should be just odd enough to work without making too many average viewers roll their eyes and click past the channel. Looking forward to it.

You hate everything.
I think this could be very cool, but good lord I hope it's better than Blade. I wonder what kind of angle they'll use. Will it be a bit more of a mystery, or will we be getting some fast and hard action? Maybe a bit of both? Whatever they do, they'd better make sure they stand apart from Batman.

I like the recent Moon Knight series, but this will suck, at best. The character is too f'd up to work as an action show, and there isn't enough meat behind him to support a drama.

With all these superhero TV shows and movies appearing we're gonna need a parody show soon.

Wow. Just wow.
Too early. Comic is just establishing itself again, and the subject matter is just too violent for TV.

Didn't get renewed for a second season. Which is actually too bad, since the last half of the first season was pretty kick-ass.
I think most of you are jumping the gun on saying the show will suck. Sure, there's a high chance, but they could end up doing it right.

Ah, therein lies the problem, it was getting good. TV execs hate good TV shows, raises the standards at which point 99% of what's on now becomes meaningless crap.

Fair enough, Savok. Fucking TV execs. :p
