This is most likely NOT MS...it's probably the dev./pub. and an exclusivity on the demo with OXM (on the disk-pack-in).

I have a Aussie account I set up for the Chrome Houbds demo but couldn't see R6. Maybe the latest round of upgrades to Live closed the hole allowing people to pretend they were else where in the world. MS may have intsituted some kind of IP address checking software. Perhaps that's why UMK3 appeared to only some people at first and then disappeared for a short while.

slightly off topic, but i still think one of the best features of this 'current gen' is the ability to get free demos (i think ps3 supports this as well correct? not sure about wii?) I mean its nice that you can try out games before taking a $50/$60 gamble at a store, or even wasting money at a rental place.

i know this is no biggy for us PC users, but i think that's one of the best features of the new consoles, which is something that's not been available before, aside from the previous stupid demo discs in magazines (which you had to subscribe to/pay for anyway).

In theory, it could/should. There was one piece of news that when translated made it look like Sony might charge for some demo downloads, though.

With Sony's, "Let the developers do what they want with Internet gaming" attitude, I'd think anybody could host a downloadable demo for the PS3, for free or otherwise.

Like much about the PS3, it appears we won't know for sure until right before or after it ships.

Microsoft (or Major Nelson) gets blamed for so many things, whether it's their fault or not... Someone prices horse armor at $2.50 and tons of people blame Microsoft. There could be a ton of reasons why it isn't out in North America (like Ubisoft decided to take money from OXM for an exclusive), but Microsoft gets blamed.

Just played through the demo. Absolutly loved it. Framerate was pretty solid except in a few places. But definate day one purchase for me.

It's hard to tell considering I've only played one full game, but Vegas feels more fluid IMO.

Will be buying this. If they still have the clan features from the previous games, will there be an EvAv squad? If the full game is anything like the demo, I'll like it better than GRAW. The controls feel good too, unlike previous rainbow titles.

Fun demo, and yeah the framreate dropped a few times, so I hope they fix it for the final code. The cover system, priority tagging of enemies and the various breach set ups, all seemed to work quite nicely and fluidly. This game just got moved to my "to buy"-list.

Well, the 4-player co-op mode already put R6:Vegas on that list, TBH.

I picked this up in the latest OXM and after Lockdown I didn't have that high of hopes in this game, but now I can easily say that I will buy this day one when it comes out. As a huge fan of black arrow and the original 3 on Xbox I was let down big time by Lockdown and tried to forget the Rainbow Six series ever existed. Before playing the demo or seeing any real extended footage I was pretty vocal to my friends on what Ubisoft needs to do in order to get me back as a fan of the franchise and they hit that mark perfectly. I feel this game is a faster paced Graw with more fluid cover mechanics and swat style gameplay mechanics and that is exactly what I decided I wanted to see from R6 vegas after playing GRAW.


I should e-mail Ubisoft and thank them for reading my mind.

Chrome Hounds was a game I may have bought with a demo, without it I had no chance of buying it.

Rainbow Six Vegas may be the same since I got burned buying Lockdown on its name alone and it sucked. With my current game load I won't give Rainbow Six Vegas a second look if the reviews are average or worst and there isn't a demo on Live.

Doing this results in lost sales, at least from me anyway. This game may be the next Chrome Honds for me, a game I want but can't try before buying so I delay a pruchase until I relalize the multiplayer aspect has become obsolete or the remaining players are just to good for me to play against. At that point I just wait for the game to go bargin bin, that is the point I'm at with Chrome Hounds.

Just tried the demo, and man, this game will kick ass! I just love the way you can tag the enemies with the snake cam.

I loved the demo, HOWEVER, there were some extreme frame rate slow down in the last 2 rooms of the demo. Before those rooms the FR seemed moderately steady, but during those breach and clears it got choppy bad. At one point the FR dipped so low that my muzzle flash was a slide show on the screen and I didn't get to see my team make entry through the door, 1 sec door closed next second they have cleared the room. Same for the last scene, it got pretty bad. I am hoping that it is simply due to being unfinished code.

Other than that the game is a throwback to the older RB6 series, 1 shot can kill and does frequently. It looks to be a blast in both multi and single player.

Did anyone else have slowdown issues, I am hoping it is just the demo or maybe my 360 just had a hiccup.

Just tried the demo of Rainbow Six: Vegas... Seems like it may have leapfrogged GRAW and that's not a bad thing.

I wonder if this or Gears online will be more popular. They both look really good.
