For any PC/360 Oblivion owners who were fuming about the apparently exclusive PS3 content, IGN brings some hearting news from Bethesda's Todd Howard (Oblivion’s Executive Producer).

IGN: Will the Knights of the Nine quests eventually become available for X360 and PC players of Oblivion, or are they exclusively PS3's?

Howard: We always aim to have all our content available across all platforms, so that is our goal.

The interview is a mixed blessing for PS3 owners, as it seems that while they may have a technology-improved version:

The PS3 is benefiting from us continuing to develop our core technology that drives all our Elder Scrolls games. Some of that is noticeable on the screen -- like all the new graphic shaders -- and some isn't.
....
You no longer have a harsh line cutting across the two levels, they blend together seamlessly and the distant detail and land looks much nicer.
But it is missing the 360 downloadable contact, and may not get any of it’s own:

IGN: Are all of the add-ons going to ship with it or will they still be extra?

Howard: The downloadable content is actually designed to work with a game that is in-progress and doesn't work as well with a new game. So instead we focused on Knights of the Nine as the new stuff to add to Oblivion that would work well no matter where you are in the game. Downloadable content is something we'd like to support on PS3, but right now that's really in Sony's hands.

IGN: Has Sony been able to provide you with enough information so that downloadable content for Oblivion will be available for the PS3 version somewhere down the line?

Howard: How Sony will handle this is still a little fuzzy to us, but it is our intention to make that content available for PS3 as soon as we're able.

I am sure that as soon as Sony figures out what they are going to do online with repsect to DL content, that they will get the DL content for this game too. The only questionis when will Sony finish their online stuff? It seems pretty clear to me though that it will not be by November...

See, finances really limit me to the 360, and I have to say that Oblivion looks great – but the land does look crappy over long distances. While I’m happy that we get the extra guff, I’m kinda jealous that the PS3 is going to get a visual boost over the 360.

Suck it Trebek! Suck it long, Suck it hard. That is assuming Trebek works for Bethesda, as personally, I'm looking forward to a real rpg (read: NWM 2, Gothic 3.)

From the screens I have seen, you do not have to be very jealous at all. Some people claim to see a big difference. But having played that game a LOT, I simply do not see what all the fuss is about. Maybe you should have a look before you feel jealous... My bet is that if you do, you will feel better.

I am sure there will eventually be great looking games that will offer an experience that will be unique to the PS3 (exclusive titles basically), this just isn't one of those games.

Let's all just be glad that the port is finished already, so that they can get working on the next one.

If there's no dedication to the consoles, there would be expansion packs already and a patch to officially rectify the crapped out leveling system.

Sorry if that's true... The only other post I remember is the one saying Not9 was PS3 exclusive.

He pretty much slammed the door on the "Sony has a great online system, they're just waiting to reveal it!" crowd...

lol, a blast from the past, when SNL was funny :)
It is obvious from this that Sony does not have their online plans in order as of yet. This is a relatively major title. Do you think maybe, because it is a Western dev, Sony is not helping them out as much as their Japanese devs? I am thinking maybe Sony is banking on it's Japanese success, where the 360 is still almost a non-factor.
