Because you just can't get enough superhero movie news in one day (and I know there's some Entourage fans in here), I found this one thanks to Newsarama (http://www.newsarama.com). IESB.net that Mark Wahlberg would love to work on an Aquaman movie, a concept parodied in his hit show Entourage. From the full article (http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=167):

Although, he does acknowledge there has been talk from multiple sources he says he would be more interested in producing such a project rather than star in it.

So who would be his first choice to star as the underwater superhero? Why Adrian Grenier of course who portrays Vincent Chase in Entourage who is portraying the Aquaman in the fictional feature film of the storyline. Confused? He isn't, he says Adrian is already Aquaman for him and he would be his choice.

You have to admit, doing an Aquaman film with the coolness of the cast and crew behind Entourage may be the only way to really make this a viable project. Warner/DC might want to snap this one up while it's fresh in everyone's minds.

That's boring. Aquaman boring.

Hence my point with some pull like this being necessary to make it a truly interesting viable moneymaker. Also, the current run on Aquaman kicks surprising amounts of ass.

No more new superhero movies...please? :( I'd be happy to see Batman and Spiderman run through their current movie storylines but that's about it.

See, Aquaman was the big player but everyone kinda laughed at him. I want to see Arthur Curry kick some ass.

Will it be Aquaman with Hook hand or without hook hand?

I'm waiting for a Wonder Twins movie to come out.

haha entourage is such a great show. its crossing all kinds of borders - i'd love to see this movie made. they have an installed audience of all the entourage addicts already. there would probably be a lot of tie-ins to the show.

they could make it the entourage movie or something.....

if they took it too seriously it might suck though.

or they could pull it off - who the fuck knows, i'm not hollywood.

I don't think even Vinnie could make the King of the Sea swim. Now Prince Namor may be another story. Give him a Dracula haircut and he'd be perfect!

I'd love to see a Sgt. Rock movie... How about Johah Hex?

Why can't people do a Superman with muscles? I mean you can have toned, but looking at comics, Supes is fucking huge. Batman is kinda big too, but you could put that down to the suit.

There's one hell of an internal struggle and a story arch to that. What's it like being all powerful, but not in any useful domain. Kind of like being a god with computers, when you want to be a stud with the ladies. Enough to drive somebody... batty... fishy?

Aquaman is great to visit, but I don't think I could take 2 hours with him.
heh heh... Aquaman Boring

Entourage is a great show and I think I would be up for an Aquaman movie because of it. I do think it is funny how they want reality to mirror fiction though. :)

I repeat: The current run on Aquaman is awesome. Then again, it also isn't much of a superhero book, more of a high fantasy thing.

Does Aquaman get thirsty? Also, how come he doesn't get prune skin from being in the water for so long?

I'd make a sad but gripping ecological tragedy story, Aquaman starts suffering from gynecomastia from all the hormonal and chemical runoff pollution and he leaves the sea to kick some corporate ass and schools women not to flush their birth control pills.

Man, I'm so good at this.

No, as in epic fantasy genre stuff. Like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_fantasy

Except set in the DC Universe.

me smells a stinky fish...

;)

I don't mean to offend any Aquamaniacs out there, but there are so many other comics that would do better in movie form.

I suppose it could be done...

You just know that a CGI/Live Action Smurfs is on the way - they need more 70s and 80s cartoons to rip-off. See Garfield, Scooby Doo, TMNT, Transformers, etc.

Adrian Grenier is one of the prettiest males I've ever seen. The only time I've experienced his acting was in The Devil Wears Prada, and he wasn't all that amazing there. Then again he was just a side role.

If they do make this film then Aquaman had better be gay. It's pretty obvious that the guy is one super mo. :p
