TheUnknownSoldier emailed me to let me know that additional content for Prey is on the way for both Xbox 360 and PC. Included in the download will be various bug fixes plus new maps and characters.
You can read the full details here (http://tinyurl.com/rw34y).
There's also new content for Prey coming soon -- still in the process of finalizing the new maps. We've read online that some people have requested maps that function well as 1v1 maps. So, we've taken that to heart and have been working on four maps that work better with a smaller number of people 2-4 players. Of course, you can still play with more than four in the maps, but they can get pretty insane.
Also, we're adding in six new player characters:
- Four female characters: Jen, Elhuit, Mother, and Becky (the blond victim you see occasionally on slabs in the single player Prey)
- Two Hunter characters: Hunter and Elite Hunter
I wonder if there will be a fee involved for both versions or just the Xbox 360 version.

Are you sure there will be a fee for the 360 content? I love Prey, but it sounds like this stuff should be giveaway.

No, I'm not sure. I was posing the question is all.

Hey, they went out of their way to make small 1v1 maps, you've gotta pay for that extra umm, effort over what it would take to create and balance oh say a 12v12 player map.
:p

Well you know they won't charge for it on the PC side. It's a patch that is coming with some content. They aren't going to charge for a patch.

Some might considering this spoilerish, but I doubt it...
I have to wonder if Mother will still be topless?

Considering how short the game was (like a blink longer than HLEP1), the new content SHOULD be free.

This part is key for me as a 360 Prey owner . . .
Venom is working on a 360 patch for Prey which will address the network lag issues on the 360 as well as fix several bugs there as well.I managed to play about a dozen or so matches before my console went belly up and maybe 1/4 of those were truly playable.
On the plus side, it is a real treat to walk-up on someone who is spirit walking, working on unlocking that multiplayer achievement and either taking them down for an easy frag or waiting for them to come back with your acid spraying gun pointed in their face hehe.
I don't think they'll sell a lot of map downloads IMO, to each their own though. The patch will be an automatic update I'm sure ( anything else doesn't make sense ) and the player models should just be tossed in with that, since they're already in the game to begin with.

I've never been a big fan of large scale multiplayer battles. I don't nkow why people enjoy them. When I get shot I usually like to know who I got shot by, not just getting killed in random opportunist fire time after time.

Of course, you can still play with more than four in the maps, but they can get pretty fucking laggy.
Fixed

Fee for PC version?? Not likely, also it is possible that they don't charge for the 360 version but who knows..

Are they going to fix it so that the acid shotgun doesn't also shoot lag?

Yeah as everyone says, the multiplayer of this game is completely and unplayably RUINED by the lag. The only time I have NOT had lag is when I hosted my own game. I haven't even played a non laggy 1 vs 1 game.
It's a real shame too, because it seems like it'd be a lot of fun running around on the ceiling spamming grenades onto the floor in a crowded match, but there's just no way it can ever happen at the moment.
I would go back and give it another go if they fixed the netcode, but I'm a bit "over" it all now, played it for my achievements and shelved it.
Do many people play Multiprey on Live? Because if you ask me this content is pointless for PC'ers. Last I checked the biggest server running at the time had a whole 5 people playing. Makes me wonder why Human Head even bothered with MP, they should have just invested the time into making the SP game longer.

This sounds like a patch to me. And lots of patchs come with extra maps and skins.
Well they used to. Back in the day.
