GameBrink (http://www.gamebrink.com/) a Sega oldie
AM3s 3D fighter Last Bronx wasnt exactly a major hit in the history of 3D fighters. The gameplay itself was fairly standard (a continuation of the Fighting Vipers/VF style), but at the same time it was interesting as right along with Soul Edge in the mid 90s, it marked the start of motion-captured weapon-based fighting games. Ironically though, despite not gaining much popularity in the arcades (at least in comparison to Soul Edge or VF), the game received its own Japanese manga, a live-action film, and a deluxe two disc Saturn port featuring a story mode filled with anime cutscenes (something every other Sega fighter has lacked). Now in 2006, for the 10th year anniversary, Sega has seen fit to include Last Bronx in their Sega Ages collection alongside other Ages titles such as Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers. But at the same time, Sega Ages Volume 24: Last Bronx is a port of the arcade machine and not the anime-cutscene filled two disc Saturn version. So then which is the definitive version?
