GameBrink (http://www.gamebrink.com/) a Sega oldie

AM3s 3D fighter Last Bronx wasnt exactly a major hit in the history of 3D fighters. The gameplay itself was fairly standard (a continuation of the Fighting Vipers/VF style), but at the same time it was interesting as right along with Soul Edge in the mid 90s, it marked the start of motion-captured weapon-based fighting games. Ironically though, despite not gaining much popularity in the arcades (at least in comparison to Soul Edge or VF), the game received its own Japanese manga, a live-action film, and a deluxe two disc Saturn port featuring a story mode filled with anime cutscenes (something every other Sega fighter has lacked). Now in 2006, for the 10th year anniversary, Sega has seen fit to include Last Bronx in their Sega Ages collection alongside other Ages titles such as Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers. But at the same time, Sega Ages Volume 24: Last Bronx is a port of the arcade machine and not the anime-cutscene filled two disc Saturn version. So then which is the definitive version?

Anyone know whatever happened to the Sega Ages rerelease of Phantasy star? I was jazzed about it but never heard anything other than it was coming.

I know at least a couple Phantasy Star Sega Ages titles saw release in Japan. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like Sega is interested in releasing any more Sega Ages titles outside of Japan anymore, which is especially terrible because they are finally pretty damn good.

Though I wasn't too crazy about the Last Bronx release. It is an early 3D fighter of course, so it just doesn't have the playability I expect from the genre nowadays.

I don't think anyone reads Gamebrink anymore. Horrible reviews and Miyamootoo always does a terrible job with the story here at EvAv. This is by far the most basic and terrible. I wish they'd just stop printing his bad news links. Check out JCal's story above. Sure, it is also self-promoting, but he sets up the story, etc. Miyamootoo used to do some of that but he also always links reviews and he NEVER gives out their score in the review link.

Let's pay him back for this crap by NEVER visiting Gamebrink.
