Is this going to include troop tactics like KUF? I loved in KUF that you could level up your armies and get new weapon types for them. And take that online.

Very limited troop tactics, its not like KUF in that regard. But still fun in it's own way

Thought the demo was a great little button masher. I see there is definitely a lot of strategy in using the different attacks at the right times. I sucked, but definitely going to pick it up.

The troop tactics include, and ARE limited to: "FOLLOW ME, TROOPS", "DON'T FOLLOW ME, TROOPS" and "HERE TAKE THIS ITEM FOR A MARGINAL HEALTH/DAMAGE/DEFENSE INCREASE, TROOPS".
Anyone interested in this game really should play the demo, and be aware that it does not get any more complicated than what you get there. If you're fine with that it's a decent purchase for entertainment of the very mindless variety.

Now that I've got my 360 back, I took a look at the demo. I've really enjoyed playing it - you're right that it's mindless, but the action's fun, the enemy armies are huge, and the eye candy is just terrific. I noticed a couple of stutters as new armies appeared on the horizon, but aside from that it looks like it shows of the 360's power quite well.

I liked the IDEA of Kingdon Under Fire, but I really disliked the implementation.
I tried the demo. Gawd. Why can't they leave the original Japanese voices in there and just give me subtitles. The voice acting is SO BAD!

So you're saying this has *less* strategy than say, Dynasty Warriors?

is it just me or does next-gen look less and less next-gen everyday. It hasn't even been a year...sigh

It's so hard to get excited about a game I feel I've seen a thousand times. Yea, I know the Japanese eat this stuff up but. really, what's the difference between this and Dynasty Warriors 427-GX: Lady Nocturne: A Tek Jenson Adventure.
Yeah, it looks awful. The ground textures are hideous. If MS and Sony aren't even going to deliver on the graphics then Nintendo will be back on top within a year.

You know, magazines like EGM killed this game ... I thought the demo was good fun. I'm sold ... always room on my shelf for a good hacker

Very little thus far has looked truly next-gen. Then again, if you are a PC gamer or was until recently, the graphics will never floor you. I'm graphically jaded. Oblivion was the last game that really looked awesome to me and of course you get used to it in no time, especially after you trek through the same 4 dungeon palettes 100 times.

It's alright...it's a pretty game. And fun I guess, for a little while. I would never by this.
And it looks a lot better than these screens convey.

People get used to awesome graphics just as easily as people get used to meh graphics.
A few years ago someone loaned me Ocarina of Time, the GameCube version that was given away as some special event. Never having played the N64 version, I gave it a shot and was SHOCKED to see how crappy it looked. 10 min later, and I didn't even SEE the graphics any more. The great gameplay totally roped me in.
I feel that way about 360 games too. Once I'm hooked by great gameplay I don't even see the graphics any more, no matter how good or bad they look.

Yeah, the demo for this bored the crap out of me. I really questioned the point of having a friendly army, since I was more effective with one swipe than they were in force. The friendly and enemy forces mingled so tightly that I just started swinging, and only the bad guys fell. I ran out of depth about a minute into the game. I played to the end of the demo, then deleted it right off the harddrive to make room for Pac-Man (a game of infinitely more depth).

I remeber hearing bad things around the Japanese Release, mostly about how the Boss Fights are utter pieces of crap where 1-2 hits kills you, hit detection is utter crap and so on and so forth.

Anyone ever notice that Nintendo fanboys are completely irrational?
I've yet to see anything from the Wii camp that even looks as "bad" as N3.
The game's boring as hell (at least the demo is), so I won't be picking it up, but it doesn't look like anything the previous generation could do without struggling and that would've been on the XBox, not the fanboy favs like the PS2 or GC.

i loved the demo, although the whole troop thing was worthless.. they all died when on their own
i was going to get this until i learned it was 1p only.. wtf! goldenaxe/dark alliance style co-op would have been so bomb.
