Please note: Some of the screenshots for the above titles are not taken from Wii. If you require a list of which games do show official Wii screens please send us an email.

I LOVED the metal slug games. My roommate and I used to play them constantly in college, so I'm absolutely stoked that they're coming to Wii. "Kill the iraqis! Wait, alien invasion???" (/spoiler?)

Sadly no, though I think (hope) some of them are.

Can we expect more?

This is a nice feature. Are all these screens from the Wii versions?I'm sure the Far Cry screens aren't, but I can't say for sure about the rest. I doubt they are all from the Wii versions.

that screen was probably from the xbox version, so we can be sure the wii version will look the same, if not a little better.
I'm pretty damn excited now.
Also, Nexus needs to move their goddamn watermark to the corner. Who puts a watermark right in the center of the image? I mean, c'mon!

Those aren't all launch games... Crystal Chronicles? For crying out loud!Yeah, what gives? I didn't think that was announced as a launch title.
Where are the 1st party games?Twilight Princess is in there. I can't think of any other Nintendo-published games that were announced to be day one launch titles off the top of my head.
EDIT: Looks like ExciteTruck is in there, too, along with Metroid Prime 3.

And what's up with Avatar? That screenshot had better be from VERY early in the development cycle. Like "let's do some concept art using MS Paint" early. I'm a big fan of the cartoon, so they had better not screw that up.

Lookin good. I was originally planning on a large scale purchase of Wii/2 controllers/4 games or so when it launched, and it doesn't look like that plan is getting scaled back anytime soon.

So does this article from IGN (http://wii.ign.com/articles/705/705607p1.html)

Sigh...
FFCC is a launch title...
There are at least 3 1st party titles there...
the avatar screen seems to be the victim of crappy resizing.

According to the entry on Wiki its a launch title. But which "launch" do they mean? Day one, or the ever-cryptic 3-6 month "launch window"? Nintendo said that Super Smash Brawl would be a "launch title", as well, before clarifying that it would be available within the first 6 months of the Wii launch.

I don't recall Nintendo ever confirming that Super Smash Bros is a launch title. I remember hearing Iwata say at E3 2005 that he was strongly encouraging his team to make Super Smash Bros available at Wii (then Revolution) launch.
Do you have any confirmation of the launch status?

Do you have any confirmation of the launch status?I think that's more or less how it went. But most people ended up equating "encouraging to make it a launch title" with "it's a launch title", and then it was an uphill battle for Nintendo to move people's mindsets away from that.
Currently, SSBB is a Q1 2007 title, within the alleged "launch window" of 6 months.

Yeah. I have much more of an issue with people confirming that something will happen, and then changing their mind. Saying, "Here is what we WILL do..." is very different from saying, "Here is what we WANT to do..."

Can I?

Well, you ARE a doctor.Good point.
From this day forth, Nintendo is accountable for every foolish thought and misconception its fans can possibly entertain!
Same goes for Microsoft AND Sony, though I think that goes without saying.

Some interesting choices there, notably Far Cry, Blitz: The League, and Blazing Angels.

Indeed,
DBZ, the little anime boy in me is excited as this was one of the earlier series that got me hooked on Shonan Jump comics.

Once you get used to the Wii-mote, you'll regret having to pick up the dual shock standard again, I predict..

Damn, if all of these are truly launch titles... I don't think I can avoid buying this ASAP... Twilight and Metroid were already hard to resist, but I figured I could hold out until Smash Bros came out if my College-Boy lack of money prevailed...
If FFCC and Marvel Avengers are availible, let alone online playable, at launch, I sence a LOT of ramen in my future...
