Developer The Creative Assembly has moved through the histories of Japan, Europe and ancient Rome for their past games in their Total War RTS series. Now the developer is working on their first sequel in the series as they return to the Middle Ages with Medieval II: Total War, which will be the first full Total War game for their recent owners Sega. FiringSquad got a chance to chat with the game's project director Bob Smith (http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=11630) to find out more about their plans for Medieval II: Total War. Here is a snip:
FiringSquad: What are the development team's favorite new units to use in Medieval II?
Bob Smith: With 250 units in the game, it’s quite difficult to select one favorite. It really depends on how you approach your battle tactics. If you like to build your tactics around ranged combat then you’re going to love the English longbowmen. These guys are deadly at range and are able to deploy spikes to protect them from a cavalry charge. If you like something a little meatier then you need look no further than the monster bombard. This is an incredible cannon contraption that had a bore of more than a yard, and throws a rock weighing a thousand pounds. This beauty can do some serious damage to troops and castle walls
