Wow.. IL-2 and Pacific fighters blow these flight mechanics away... I was not impressed so far. Well at least there is Maddox's Battle of Britain later this year. It's so much nicer to see your plane crash in to tiny little pieces like in IL-2 and Pacific fighters, instead of the whole plane sitting there with the text "crash" after touching the ground at high speeds.

I think i'll stick with FS2004 and its mods. From what I read on another site FSX is hardly an update to FS2004 and runs like crap.

Of course, it is call Flight Simulator, not Crash Simulator, but then again, I'm not a pilot and can't vouch for the veracity of the aerodynamic models. That doesn't stop me from wanting to crash into a satellite photograph of my house, however.

I don't play these kinds of sims myself (no gun, no fun, sez me), but I don't think ANY MS Flight Simulator game has gone to any appreciable lengths with regards to spectacular crashes, so that's nothing new. The appeal for this, I'm told by a buddy who is an actual pilot, is the mere challenge of managing the airplane and navigation and such. Makes me sleepy, but obviously there's a ton of people who dig this like I (and you, apparently) dig military simulators.

I wouldn't recommend that you go and download from microsoft websites they can charge you $1.50 for the bandwith just like their starting to do with Vista beta

Perhaps a link to what you're talking about could clear things up.
