The American publisher Aspyr Media hasn't announced a definite date yet, but it can't be far off.

I saw this yesterday, now do we all import it or is there going to be a US release relatively close to that date?

The german release date has been known for at least several days now...
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this. Already got it preordered. I just hope they haven't dumbed down the combat too much. The first 2 were awesome.

I've never had any problem with starforce (yet) So even if this did have it, I'd still buy it.

Aspyr Media has stated when they became the publishers of Gothic in America that the release date for Gothic 3 in America will be shortly after Germany. The time frame is weeks, not months. I figure Aspyr will have Gothic 3 ready for the holiday season.

For the die-hard Gothic fans, you can use the old combat system. If I am not writing a review, that is the one I will be using. If I am writing a review, then I have to play with the new one.

no, you have to try the new one, but if you don't like it, I don't think it hurts the review to say so and finish it the old way. I mean, they did include it, so it's fair game.

Fantastic, I've been looking forward to this for quite a while. The new features seem geared exactly towards what I found lacking in Gothic II - the controls in particular, so I can see myself queuing up for this one.

Hope they're not rushing it out the door. Nothing hurts game ratings as much as lack of polish

Speaking of Gothic II, I could never seem to get it to work with the current ATI drivers, does anyone know of a workaround or a patch or something? Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Great news! I won't be able to play it sadly, but I hope to get a new computer sometime next year. I'll definitely be picking this up at that time. I loved the second one. :)
