TriXie over at xbox.com (http://www.xbox.com) interviewed our very own BAPenguin as part of their Gamer Spotlight (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/community/personality/trixie/gamerspotlights/20060808-bapenguin.htm).
TriXie:What cartoon character do you think is most like you?
BAPenguin: Space Ghost. I like to keep the guest Evil Avatar people in line with my power-bands.
Take special note of the nomination mail ;)

TriXie: Coming in loud and clear, dude. Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?
BAPenguin: Scarlett Johansson.Hopefully we are on that island for a long time.
You have good tastes.
Great interview ;)

I guess it would have been bad to mention the Nintendo Wii on the "next big thing in gaming" question eh? ;)

I'm sure I could have...though I'm still not convinced of that. At least amongst the hardcore crowd.

Props to bap for pimping the community and Tuesday Night GRAW. I take back everything I've ever said about him. Except for the "nice ass" comments.
I meant those.

Just a suggestion Bap, "I guess my current job is the worst, it's a lot of big business BS." is usually the kind of stuff you wanna keep too yourself in a online interview. ;)
Unless you run your own biz of coarse. But then you have knowone to blame but yourself :p

Doesn't change whether his/her ass is like a jackhammer. Not exactly sure what that means, perhaps it's really loud.

That interview essentially forced you to advertise for the X-Box, which comes off as kind of awkward. Some of the questions are fair and interesting, but asking you things such as, "What's the best thing about X-Box Live?" sort of forces praise out of you, which is kind of in poor taste. I understand its on xbox.com, but still. Its cool to see EvilAvatar getting recognized out there.

-And judging by her name, probably a wannabe prostitute. Nothing like dredging up old episodes of the simpsons to be "witty". D'oh!

How did you not mention the banhammer? I mean, they have one over there, but is theirs homo-erotic? I don't think so.

I have to agree that it wasn't that great of an interview and the Trixie girl is pretty obnoxious (of course, this is all based on what sounded like her reading from a card, so who knows). It would have been nice to see questions like "What could be done to improve Live?" as opposed to pro-Live variations on "Do you still beat your wife?"
It's nice to see Evil Avatar get some press though. Perhaps not exactly to the audience that it needs, but it's at least something.

During a co-op game of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon one of our teammates was laying behind a box of ammunition for cover. Coincidently, that box was a goal for the mission. Another one of my teammates decided it was time to blow it up and proceeded to yell "Fire in the hole!" Before the words were out of his mouth he shot a grenade into the ammo crate and blew our teammate 25 feet into the air. I don't think he understood that when you yell "Fire in the hole," you are supposed to wait and make sure your teammates have time to clear the area.
Quoted for posterity.

Xbox didn't "want" to interview him. I nominated him for the interview - it wasn't like Peter Moore tracked bapenguin down and paid for the interview.

I thought the interview was just what it was intended to be . . . fun. Anyone who hangs around xbox.com knows what those are all about anyway and who wouldn't like seeing their Gamertag and so forth up there for the heck of it. It was cool that fitbabits did that for bapenguin and the site here.
Sort of reminded me of Evil Avatar's old loonygames interview (www.loonygames.com/content/1.10/profile/).
Xbox.com's TriXie for those interested (tkfiles.storage.msn.com/x1pEwgBqqJFVOwWs6ejFprt8tlmA4g9Vowb1u54SdLopQU0-E36lbI5z9h7o0uXsgKzHHceEl5_G0YKXrKKnCvY12cc9zlN3xZ zgemNOPVLpo6lIqLcZm-Mb3TSNZWCeDZkyfBRZCL4C-8) . . . had to look her up (www.trixieblog.com/) after some of the comments I read in the thread. She is a pretty active community manager and I'm guessing the female counterpart to one Major Nelson at those parts of the Interweb.

We should invite her on the podcast to defend herself. I personally liked the "Behind the Gamertag" inteviews and found them to be a cute little feature. I may or may not have nominated bootsy for one. I perhaps should have link to definitions of some of the words I used in my missive.
Thanks, Mont for the additional background on Trix.
