Fitbabits is busy dancing on the LAN party PCs in his kilt, yet somehow he managed to sneak us 3 new screenshots (http://www.evilavatar.com/forums/showthread.php?p=364220#post364220) of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

Great to see something other than a monotone in these newer shots. :)

Wow, the environment objects and textures look absolutely terrible in that third shot. Hopefully the game looks better in motion

Lookin' good. Worlds better than that generic looking BF 2142 tripe.

Yeah, that third shot does look pretty muddy.

Hrm.

just out of curiosity, did they rename the game to Enemy Territory: Quake Wars? I always thought it was Quake Wars, then they slapped on "Enemy Territory".

No, it has always been ET:QW. You know, to scare off the people who played ET:RTCW

Here is hoping that it plays great ;)

That last shot is pretty crummy, but as long as it stays true to the gameplay ideals of the original Enemy Territory it could look like Doom 1 and I'd still play it.

I'm not very impressed. I hate promo shots.

More actual game pictures (from player perspective), and then follow up with a gameplay trailer. I want to see actual gameplay before I decide on purchasing.

Got to play ET here, it's fucking awesome. Color me impressed, it's shaping up quite nicely. Imagine the most chaotic battle you ever saw in BF2 and multiply it by 10 and you've got ET.

I somehow doubt that, seeing as the (non-objective based) mechanics seem largely identical. So far, ET is looking like a very nice cross between HL2 and Battlefield.

I'm getting more and more interested in this.

edit: I'm digging those ironsights. The gameplay looks slick as hell.

I'm looking forward to this game. I got upset about the Battlefield series because I felt there was an overall lack of improvement on network code optimizations in versions following the original. Hopefully, due to the experience behind this engine, the network code will be of higher quality.

The environment's textures look as though they're using a lower LOD, which i hope is just a issue of incomplete high detail textures being available to the Level Designer at the time of this screenshot.

But who are we kidding... The machine I'll be playing this on probably won't be up to the task of displaying those textures at maximum resolutions anyway...

Also note that there is a 24 player limit in ET:QW. Not saying this is bad, but that it is probably inaccurate to draw comparisons to Battlefield2 for this reason.

Depends. Is Crysis 06 or 07?
